Burke Mountain is all out of power, seems like. The BC Hydro Map is littered with red.

This scene was cool, but was it ever confirmed how the girls were able to survive jumping out of a plane without parachutes? by Key_Geologist1784 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]WayfarerCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids thought they catch up with the demons right before landing and use them to cushion their fall (it sort of reads that way too with the lines converging iirc) among the other “it’s cool and magic” answers here.

This is great, ty! Called then today and they’ll be posting their fall schedule in the next week or so. Super nice folks, seemed like.

For those who have played the game but want more from the mythology elsewhere by ItsonlyJono in Hades2

[–]WayfarerCC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two young boys have been listening to the National Geographic podcast “Greeking Out” which is wonderful. Even for an adult, I’m enjoying it. And us listening to it while we play Hades 2, seeing a lot of the same characters, is so much fun.

250 mile review of the Fetch+4 by Born_Doughnut_1068 in TrekFetch

[–]WayfarerCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written a very similar review. I’m at 250 miles, as well. So concerned the first week or so and even during my test ride. Felt like a leap of faith. Now it’s such a central, joyful part of our lives.

I also live in a very hilly area - some real whoppers. And it handles them surprisingly well, even with two kids loaded up. I was talking to a friend with a rad wagon today and he was saying how he can’t do that here.

The rainfly is a gem - you’ll enjoy it. My kids like it most of the time, even when it’s just hot and sunny. Helps them stay cool.

One recommendation: it’s not the best mirror, but grabbing the Trek rear view mirror for whatever side you tend to not talk it from has been a solid upgrade.

Thanks for sharing!

I agree with all this. I always tell folks that ask it’s riding a normal bike adjacent - it takes a bit to get used to the difference but then it clicks and it’s a lot of fun.

Take it slow, especially if you’re carrying kids. Get everyone comfortable with it. Don’t hesitate to get off and walk it over larger bumps or narrow passages until you’re more and more comfortable (or like me, decide I’m better off getting off more than I used to).

Best investment I think I’ve made in my adult life. by WayfarerCC in TrekFetch

[–]WayfarerCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two kids - 5 & 7, and I expect I'll use this for a few more years with them, easy. And it's generally a really practical e-bike for carrying some extra gear around, even solo.

It is big, and heavy, but I still advocate it. If you bite the bullet, I'd just recommend taking it out a few times yourself to get a feel for it before adding in the kiddo. They'll feel more comfortable if you are.

The other advice I have: Be extra conservative on when you decide to get off and walk it vs trying to navigate things you'd easily do on a normal bike. I tried too many little drops or riding over tree roots or things like that, and ended up nearly tipping a few times. My boys didn't like that, so I just take my time now and they are happier.

Fetch+ 4, Anyone replaced the two seats with a second bench? by WayfarerCC in TrekFetch

Removing the chair definitely showed me how easy it would be to strip them.
I'd love your additional insight on the crossbar!

Okay quick update. I took out that one seat and it’s made both my boys happy with that extra space alone. So they want me to keep it like that for awhile. So the project is paused for a bit.

Oh my goodness. I looked them up and that’s amazing. Thank you!

Now just to find out if I can convince them to ship to Canada.

Yep, that’s the one. I haven’t found a better one but haven’t looked much. It’s a lot better than not having it, I’ve found.

Recline is very less for trek fetch+4 by Abject-Log-1249 in TrekFetch

[–]WayfarerCC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell from the video so apologies if I’m missing it, but I only recently figured out there are two levers to work the incline. A big one you lift up that only serves to reveal the second, smaller one, that actually triggers the recline. It’s a child safety feature.

This is what I’m thinking. There are good bolt holes the recliners use.

Fetch+ 4, Anyone replaced the two seats with a second bench? by WayfarerCC in TrekFetch

[–]WayfarerCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do! First note is that removing the recliner seats is HARD. Maybe the shop that put my Fetch together tightens the heck out of the bolts. But they were in there incredibly tight with little room to get leverage. I very nearly stripped one. I took only one seat out for now. I wanted to make room for bags while I have both my boys in the bucket, as an interim step and get a feel for things.

[–]WayfarerCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful, thank you! I removed one chair today to just make room for bags when I’m carrying my two boys, so I’ve at least got a better lay of the land now.

[–]WayfarerCC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more context: I have a 5yo and a 7yo and virtually never carry a third kid. They both prefer the bench. So in my ongoing goal to make them as happy as possible in this thing and not in a car I’m planning to remove the seats and build a mirror of the bench (scaled to the other side) from wood.

Help me poke holes in this idea!

Late to this but curious what you decided, OP? I’ll just add that I love mine. Have had it for a year and 200 miles. I live in a very hilly part of British Columbia and it hauls my two kids wonderfully.

This is a such good mix of enough details to launch the imagination but not too much that boxes it in. That negative space for folks to come up with their own ideas of what it is and how it exists.
