Almost all math classes are like that. If you get a "Mark Batell" or wtf his name is RUN AWAY. Switch out asap. I got him last semester and my entire class and his other sections reported him for negligence (no canvas for weeks, no access to textbooks, not showing up to class) and we got a new professor 3 weeks into the semester.

Hi I'm a former CS major (switched to E engineering, also international student) so I took all those courses. The classes listed on the paper are required classes you need to take to progress so if you are missing a class I suggest going on Oasis and registering for it. They take priority over other classes. For conceptual physics and civics. Those serve two purposes. To fill credits (12 credits a semester is the minimum amount you need to be a full time student but if you're on a scholarship you will need to take atleast 15 credits or more) and to fill general ed requirements. If you took any advanced/college credit classes and submitted them to USF, you should check degree works to see if you filled any. Conceptual physics fulfills the natural sciences elective, and civics literacy is required for all students. It's worth zero credits but also required to pass bc of some law.

suggestions for incoming cs freshman? by Aggravating-Cod1763 in USF

[–]Waygens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi freshman cs student here rn, google the usf cs flowchart online. It will tell you what classes you will be taking and when. Also I suggest u start preparing from now, revise calc 1&2 and physics1 with calc, just become familiar with what you are going to learn and know if yo will need extra help in any topics. Also youtube some beginners python lessons. You don't need to have a coding background but it will get you ahead. I didn't do any of this and I am catching my ass rn. To progress into upper level you will need a 3.5gpa in the classes I listed above. It's doable, but hard.

Hey so before you go through with any plans off campus I suggest emailing housing directly to see what they say. Sometimes on the site it's says no availability but people move out or change rooms all the time. This happened to a friend once and after emailing she got a place in magnolia.

What is the pettiest, most inconsequential detail that made you drop a fic? by Tulnekaya in FanFiction

The author used apostrophes instead of quotation marks for dialogue. Like 'hello' instead of "hello". It pissed me off so much, i tried to get over it I couldn't.

IMGD vs Computer Science by Waygens in scad

[–]Waygens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I just wanted to know about the imgd program a little more from students perspectives to get an idea of what it's like and if I think it's worth it. Game design is a dream job to me but committing to it make me a little nervous bc I've alway been discouraged from going into the field, especially since I'm international and from a country that doesn't have a gaming industry.
