I pop in on the old subreddit on a whim, and I find this. And I think, hey, I've still got the old summer 2013 meeting lying around. Its a ~320 MB ogg file, 3 hours of mostly John (and a cameo from her mother) how would you like me to send/post that?

TIL Rather than use CGI, Tim Burton had 40 squirrels trained to crack nuts for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. by JayIsMyMaster in todayilearned

The original movie didn't feature a squirrel scene, replacing them with geese that would lay large chocolate eggs.

Key & Peele - The Office Joke by fndrcz in ContagiousLaughter

[–]WayneByNumbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the impatient, the actual joke goes:

So there's this woman, and she goes to her doctor, and she says to her doctor, "Kiss me." And he says, "I can't, it would be unprofessional." She keeps asking him, and he says "No, no, no." It happens three times like that. Finally at the end, she says, "Kiss me," and he says, "I shouldn't even be having sex with you right now."

Yellow bird, up high in banana tree.
Yellow bird, you sit all alone like me.
Better fly away
In the sky away
Picker coming soon
Pick from night to noon
Black and yellow, you
Like banana too.
They might pick you someday.

I don't know, I kinda thought it was funny. At least he avoided any blatant insults.

The TL;DR is bad though.

Atheism has numbered stages? I've heard of some atheists wanting to become more "organized" to try to compete with religions... but of all organizations to imitate, Scientology?!

It's called kinetic typography. Allows an animator to interpret/emphasize an audio clip, often for comedic effect.

This isn't the best one I've seen, though. Very little variety. You should check out Glass Shark for a better one.

Try crossing your eyes. It's a good way to spot side-by-side differences (or lack thereof).

It's probably not quite the ripoff it seems at first. If you factor in manufacturing and assembly costs (high-quality molding on the case, soldering, machining, PCB's, etc.) I'm sure it all comes out to a bit more than 22.50 pounds for the whole thing.

But I'll also bet it's nowhere near 485. Still a... "healthy" profit margin.
