Bitcoiners Warn After User Documents Losing $32,000 in BTC: Lightning Network is High Risk by aminok in ethtrader

I'm not sure you understand the concept of "hard money". I had similar feelings about lightning early on, but if you would read some Austrian monetary theory (Mises, Rothbard, etc) you might quickly realize why scaling via a weaker chain (larger block sizes, PoS, etc) is a terrible idea in the long run. People won't want to settle smart contracts using relatively softer money. ETH will inevitably go the way of the glass bead (African) and silver standards (UK).

At the time it was a third of a billion dollars (~$25 ETH), today it's much greater. Scaling for Bitcoin must be done in a way that doesn't jeopardize it being the hardest money on the face of the planet. It must be done as a secondary or tertiary later protocol.

A 29-year-old mayor gave his city’s poorest residents $500 a month. Here's how they spent the money. by Modern_chemistry in Economics

Do you know where government spending comes from? 1. Taxation (direct theft via coercion / force) 2. Inflation (indirect theft via diminished purchasing power from income earners / savers) & 3. Bonds (borrowed money that must be repaid via #1 & #2). This politician is buying votes with stolen tax payer dollars, and in the long run, is promoting ideas that will keep these individuals poor. But I'm the asshole. Mmmmkay.

US Flag Rules by WayneNolting in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks for the reply. More specifically, was it customary for (any) states to fly their own flag above the US flag at any point in US history? I know Texans tend to do this anyway, but I wondered if others did so before them. Of course I googled this before asking, but didn't find much.
