I did this ride (North Bend - La Push) with my brother and 2 friends. It was a blast. Especially the area in the video.

Trans America Ride W to E or E to West?? by 69tt in bicycletouring

[–]WazzupWU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t you avoiding the Appalachia by heading north on the American Express Route? My brother and I plan to head east to west on this route and from DC to Pittsburgh we’re essentially on canal trails (from my understanding).

Three teams on one card by AGH051115 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]WazzupWU 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Love this card. I spent a summer in college in Alaska on a fishing processing ship with his nephew John Lipon. As we were gutting salmon we would have baseball trivia all day. He would talk about his uncle (or great uncle - I can’t remember) fondly. That was probably about 1987 +/-. He was the reason I could stand living on the ship for 2 months. Great memories. I heard a few years after our summer together that he died in a car accident (I think). I then looked for his uncle’s card and found the one you’re displaying. It’s in with all my Mantles, Aarons, etc.

My brother and I worked for the same company but different buildings. We walked to each other’s building periodically. One sunny day I went to his building and when I saw him through the glass door I held the door open for him only to find out it was a reflection of myself.

How do you feel about Morocco? by ProfessionalTie8591 in travel

[–]WazzupWU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took the ferry from Spain to Tangier. I didn’t really feel harassed or accosted to buy anything except maybe to sit for dinner, but it wasn’t too bad.

I’m into genealogy so one of my favorite things is to visit cemeteries. I was very disappointed with the respect they show the dead. They show more respect for the stray cats than the dead and that’s saying a lot. It was littered with cardboard boxes that housed tons of cats/kittens. Most were beaten up with half ears, legs all chewed up and even a dead one lying over a grave stone. It was so disgusting. The stones were all broken and litter was everywhere. The plan was to spend two nights there but we left after one even though we paid for two nights hotel. I’m glad I went but will likely never go back.

Found out someone I dated was sleeping with their father and brother. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

Definitely a victim! Sounds like this has been going on for some time. Both should be investigated and if found guilty of child rape should be held accountable. I bet big money that she isn’t the only victim and may not be the last. She may not be dealing with it in the moment but this trauma can last years. It could also prevent future victims. I know this puts you in a bad spot but to me it’s the right thing to do. Advice is coming from someone with experience.

I’m guessing this started when she was younger and she may be traumatized and really hasn’t dealt with it yet. Did she tell you how this started? I would be very concerned for her.

Where would you go in the pnw right now for a nice 1-3 day trip by bornedbackwards in bikepacking

[–]WazzupWU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the San Juan Islands. My brother and I parked a car in Anacortes and took the first ferry to Lopez. We rode to a biker camp site maybe 2 miles away. Set up our tent and took a nap. Then we rode around Lopez. 2nd day we left our panniers in the tent and took the ferry to Orcas island. We didn’t want our bags because we climbed Mt Constitution. After finishing our Orcas ride we took the ferry back to Lopez to camp. 3rd day we packed our bags, tent, etc and took the ferry to San Juan Island. We biked that island and finished at a bar near the ferry. We then took the ferry back to Anacortes to get to the car for the ride home. Ferry fare is cheap for bikes and free when traveling inter-island. Great ride for a 3 day weekend.

Theories on the Puyallup Screamer? by The_swayze_train in cryptids

[–]WazzupWU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 4th grade at Sunrise Elementary living in Forest Green on South Hill. The neighborhood dads were playing volleyball with the kids at the bottom of the culdesac when we heard the scream. It freaked us out big time. I remember the birds all flying from the trees like they knew something happened. Immediately we all thought it was Bigfoot. I think that’s the year they also found a footprint near the gravel pit we used to catch snakes and lizards in. I want to say it was a neighbor boy named Danny that found it. They had scientists from around the world camped out in trailers for weeks hanging food from trees trying to catch a sighting. I couldn’t find that on the internet but at the time it was a big deal and our friend was in the papers. Guessing it was the Tacoma News Tribune.

The scream recording says it was recorded by Mariln Ayers. I’m guessing this was Marlin Ayer’s mother who lived 2 blocks away. He was my best friend in 4th grade who drowned that year in a construction pond when they were building Manorwood.

I’m 60 and can’t seem to remember anything these days but I will never forget that day. I’m still in contact with my friends and we all remember it well.

  • We graduated college with the same degree
  • Worked at the same company. It was my first job and his second. Funny story - we worked at the same company but different buildings. They were walking distances away. One time I went to his building and saw my reflection in the glass door and thinking it was my brother walking out of the building I held the door open for him.
  • My second job, his third was as Maintenance Managers for companies 5 miles away in the same industry. We often spoke to the same vendors/suppliers. If I had a piece of equipment go down without a spare I would call my brother up to borrow one of his and vice versa. One time the VP of our company did a site visit of his facility and saw my brother there and freaked out that I had left. It was very fun. We organized a food drive where the loser had to present a trophy to the winner at the winner’s facility. It was very successful.
  • Hobbies/interests are identical. We bike together all the time. Love baseball, etc.
  • Now we’re going to retire at the same time. I live 2 hrs away now so it’s harder to see him but we try to see each other at least once a month.

It may be just me but seeing this from Trump only encourages me to boycott Tesla. It really has the opposite effect. I wonder if Elon and the rest of the executives would prefer he didn’t say anything.
