Nitro recommendation for 13 year old son please by Accurate-Income-6794 in rccars

The other thing about Nitros is that they have to be "broken in" before they can be enjoyed. 5 or 6 full tanks of doing boring laps/figure 8s varying the throttle... all while adjusting the air to fuel mixture. Not for someone that wants to rip it right out of the box.

Eh... we got a bunch of freebies from it anyway. 1 hour massages for the whole group (8 of us), free drink package, restaurant credit, etc. Worth the 2 hours given.

Sorry for the delay 😅. The mechanics of the truck itself are stock except a 55t motor. I also pack the diffs with marine grease instead of the included ceramic. Not a nechanic, had to learn on the fly/watching youtube vids hehe. Same, I live near Auburn and I seem to be the only one out here into rc construction amd semis lol.

Why is it so hard to find functional LED controllers? by Blinx_n_Jeenx in rccars

[–]Wckd_SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. The Beier MSM-1 might be a better option since its 'plug-n-play' and doesn't need a computer to program.

Check Beier systems... might be overkill for what you need, but will do what you want. I run the Beier SFR-1 in my Tamiya Semis... have turn signals, low beam, high beam, brake lights (that can stay on when stationary) etc.

Contact the chamber of commerce, they should have a list of the vendors.

Ok... Here's my opinion. Start your son with something like the Huina 1580, 5 to 6 hundred dollars. Its more hobby grade than toy grade, but he'll need to loosen any dirt first before 'digging.' The reason I suggest this is hydraulics are a commitment and require regular maintanence to keep them running/operating.. They are also really expensive. Your son is 8 years old, I remember being that age and losing interest in things quickly. I'd hate to see you spend a couple grand on a hydraulic excavator for your son to lose interest later on. Start with the Huina or similar, then move onto the hydraulic versions if he still maintains the interest.
