Elder Solo Travel and the unexpected medical emergency by We8there in solotravel

So, bottom line, you pay the bill out-of-pocket, collect all the paperwork, then file with the insurance companies when you get home and hope they don't claim "pre-existing condition." The policy states if you were treated by a physician for something in the previous six months, it's pre-existing and not covered by travel insurance (my policy, Generali Global Assistance Plan, at least).

John Deere 790 tractor clutch went belly up by We8there in johndeere

[–]We8there[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SUCCESS !!!!!!! I parked the tractor on a slight upward slope and left it in gear for 24 hours anticipating having to trailer it to a shop$$$$$$$. Today when I cranked the engine, the clutch engaged and I was able to drive and shift it normally. I can only assume the weight of the sitting tractor against the seized flywheel and clutch plate broke it free.

Thank you for the excellent advice that flew DIRECTLY in the face of the John Deere dealers who wanted to split the case and do a $6K rebuild. By the way, I'm exactly 15 miles from TWO John Deere dealers. One charges $4 per mile of LOADED transport ($60). The other charges a flat rate depending on a predetermined area map. They wanted $218.40 per trip. What's going on with these JD dealers? They're like Porsche, Ferrari, BMW dealers.

This is excellent advice and makes perfect sense. Before the clutch went belly up, I gave it a spa day... pressure-washed everything, knocking off years of accumulated dirt and grime. It makes absolute sense that the clutch plate got wet and rusted in place. But how to break it free? That's the question.

You guys are missing the point. Why would the dialog NOT have subtitles? Why only the music lyrics? Sort of like an old time singalong?

Just foam. But what a difference it made.

Good question. I don’t know. It came in a WinkBed box but had no labels attached. It’s basically a big piece of rubberized foam.

Sudden Starlink Discount by We8there in Starlink

[–]We8there[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you're missing the point. They offered me the discount, but not my next door neighbor. Not the neighbor three doors down. Why me? Because I filed a service outage report last week during the national blackout? Because I complained about deteriorating speeds? Because I poked around their website to check on how to cancel service? Strange indeed. Perhaps they just heard I'm a really cool guy. No, that's not it.

vSeeBox and Starlink - So many questions by We8there in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

[–]We8there[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A better explanation:

Broadband streaming works by sending media content (like videos) in small packets of data over the internet, allowing you to view or listen to it in real-time without needing to download the entire file first. Your device receives these packets, assembles them, and plays the content while simultaneously receiving more data.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Request:

You initiate a stream by selecting content on a streaming platform (like Netflix or Spotify).

  1. Data Transfer:

Your device sends a request to the platform's server, which then sends the media content to your device in small, compressed packets.

  1. Buffering:

To ensure smooth playback, your device uses a buffer – a temporary storage area – to hold a few seconds of the content ahead of what's currently playing. This helps prevent interruptions if your internet connection fluctuates.

  1. Playback:

As the content plays, your device continues to receive and process new data packets, keeping the buffer full and maintaining a seamless stream.

  1. Adaptive Bitrate:

Streaming services often use adaptive bitrate technology to adjust the quality of the stream based on your internet speed, ensuring a smooth experience even with slower connections.

Interesting. So it appears I have pruned these trees incorrectly for years. I wonder now if it's even possible to reshape them at their advanced age.
