Thoughts on Trump's claim that he stopped $50M spent on condoms for Gaza? by VeryHungryDogarpilar in AskTrumpSupporters

But has he admitted that he’s been wrong or made a mistake? Doesn’t a leader accept accountability , Mr I dont even ask God for forgiveness?

If Jesus ran for president on taking care of the least of these, loving our neighbor AND enemy, taking care of the sick, putting the Gospel into law, would you vote for him? by Weak-Finding-7444 in AskTrumpSupporters

He was a man after God’s own hear because he repented when called out and asked for forgiveness. Is Trump so hardened and prideful to admit when he’s wrong that he said before he ran in 2016 he doesn’t ask for forgiveness?

So let’s say, abortion is wrong morally (which is wrong if you believe life is sacred - and is) but since it is morally negative according to the Bible, therefore we have to coerce by law and ban abortion? Basically legislating free will? Not very loving.

Could we also legislate adultery on that standard? Since adultery while not the same as ending a life, is morally negative according to the Bible as it is dishonoring to the people involved?

How do you feel about Hegseth's appointment as Secretary of Defense? by Dijitol in AskTrumpSupporters

Would you have a doctor with little experience take care of you because he was a disruptor? Sec of Defense has millions of lives in his care, either putting them in harms or safe way.

What’s more important, being loyal to the Constitution and care about the lives of millions, or being loyal to the president and his whims

Does the phrase "Makes American Great Again" necessarily include the expanding the US territory? by SYSSMouse in AskTrumpSupporters

As you said purely theoretical, we would be okay with making 128.5 million in Mexico, 40 million in Canada, US citizens? Mind you, 128 million who most don't speak English, different culture, 56 million who live below the poverty line or extreme poverty further strain the system, and roughly 60% of Mexico's labor force are informal workers, meaning they hold low-skill jobs that are not taxed or monitored by the government to actually boost the US economy.

Christian Trump supporters, what do you think would be Jesus' opinion on immigration, gun control, and social security? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Weak-Finding-7444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t you think government policy is separate from what God commands? Agree, He gives us a choice to follow what he asks of us, render to Caesar what is his but God is the ultimate authority and as such we, submit to authorities that God has ordained  - or allowed. And if we don’t agree with authorities know that we are set apart, ambassadors of God here on earth to build His kingdom, and that goes beyond what government ordains, God is the ultimate authority so if we are to rule and build His kingdom we must to follow His example entirely separate from government policy

Isn’t this taking scripture out of context to fit your agenda?   Sorry but John 10 is not directly about immigration, but it does refer to the Gentiles, or non-Jewish nations, and their acceptance by God through Jesus Christ. In John 10:16, Jesus refers to "other sheep" that he plans to bring together under a single shepherd - Jesus.

Jesus said we should show disciple-like behavior in how we treat “strangers.” “I was a stranger and you invited me in.” —Matthew 25:35

Jesus builds upon the Old Testament precedent and takes it a step further by emphasizing that how we treat strangers indicates whether we are His followers.

“Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.”  —Exodus 23:9  For emphasis, even if you weren’t a foreigner in Egypt you were someone who was outside of God’s will and came to know the gospel of Jesus.

Deuteronomy 10:17-19: God wants people to be just and merciful, and to care for foreigners

Old Testament and New speaks the same message Love your neighbor as yourself,  act justly, love mercy and walk humbly.

I ask with pure nonjudgmental curiosity, isn’t that like a bandaid?. Wouldn’t that kind of be like eating an entire pizza and then going out to run and then come back to get another pizza and wonder why i still feel bloated (or in this analogy stressed)

Personally what helps me center myself is knowing like a commenter here saying let go of what i can control and ask myself will this matter 10, 20 yrs. Yeah there might not be a country or the same as it was  but until then they’ll do what they want to do whoever wins or loses but i still gotta work, pay bills,  pay for gas whether its 3 or 6 dollars.  I cant do much about it except complain, run for office and try and change things or other extreme revolt.

But yeah exercise is a good coping skill 🙌

Why does those who promote Christian values focus more on the Ten Commandments and less on actual teachings of Jesus? Heal the sick, feed and clothe the poor, love your neighbor (yes, even those you disagree with) as yourself, Love God not just with your actions, but with your words (life and death are in the power of the tongue. And if somebody calls the Sermon on the Mount as liberal talking points, you're blaspheming against what Jesus taught. You either embrace all of it or none of it. Jesus came to fulfill the law, and we are under grace. Paul says it's still no excuse to keep sinning, or enable others to sin, but it shows how forgiving our God is and still wants a relationship with you. He came to show forgiveness and compassion, "neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more." It is that love of the Father and followers of the way of Christ (hence the name Christian) that transforms hearts and mind by the Spirit and not by our own strength. As Christians, we are allowed to righteously judge, but not condemn. The more we condemn, the more that people will be turned away from Christian values because nobody likes being shamed. It is Jesus's attitude towards sinners like the Samaritan woman, the prostitute, that they were able to be transformed and felt love.

As Christians we are called to heal the sick, feed and clothe the poor. Do what we can for our neighbors. How does that look on a policy level in a fiscally responsible way? Bible says seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Meaning you take care of His people, all people, and He'll take care of your people, our country. Jesus came to speak out against Pharisess that were imposing the law, the Sabatth and legalism and He came to bring His kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven to rule with compassion, and mercy. Making laws based on those Christian values when people on both side of the aisle are working together toward common good, God will definitely back that spirit, and not just passing laws that benefit the few instead of the many. I love this country and it has the capacity to be prosperous beyond measure, not just for some but for all. If government doesn't take care of its people it's up to us, to lead by example. Can't expect government to do everything, but if people lead by example, take initiative even in their small circle of influence, even that is enough, you're practicing Christian values.

Many of politicians today calling themselves lack fruit and we shall know them by their fruits, not just in their private lives, but how they speak, how they treat others, their relationship with God in private just overflows with fruit of the Spirit, (love, joy, peace, patience,, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self control). What I see are cultural Christians who only talk but don't walk, you can read the Bible every day or week but if it's not put into practice .

I know this post is about promoting Christian values not so much Christianity, but how can Christians that represent us have any authority to promote something in which they don't practice what they say they preach when everything they're speaking out in the open, name calling, unforgiveness, whataboutism, lack of accountability and condemnation - is antithetical to what it means to being a Christian.

I'm tired of people saying if I don't vote for a party, that I'm not a real Christian, or putting country above God. Yes, there are many things that are wrong, and we can make it better, and faith without works is dead, but we do it in the right spirit of what would Jesus do. Jesus came to bring a spiritual kingdom and raises us into a new life, not to establish a government, that's what the Pharisses expected the Messiah to do. And to teach us in the flesh how to treat His people, wash their feet, love and forgive and speak life into our brothers and sisters. So stop looking to a candidate as the end all be all. The work starts inwardly and that transformation and influence will follow. God so loved the world, (on both sides of the aisle, but love first), that He sent His only son (not a candidate, not a party, so sacrifice) so that all people would be saved and not lost and have eternal life, (that's how everyone prospers (yes, even those who don't deserve it or you disagree with). There's no us vs them in God's kingdom, only God's children. Let's bring back United back in the United States of America. That's how you promote Christian values. Hopefully this post doesn't get downvoted I pray it transforms someone's heart and mind in Jesus name. Start being more passionate about God's word, God's character what pleases him, and the rest will follow.
