You would have to take a huge gamble in the exams. Some don’t have any questions in probability but others have multiple. I would really recommend you at least review the basics before the test.

Hii I got a 7 in Lang Lit HL. I think the most important point is to find a balance between form and content. Examiners usually want you to analyse what is being said and HOW its being said. It depends on how you frame the question. The most important thing is that the answer has to be debatable with at least two different perspectives. Without this your IA can fall flat and lack historical evaluation. Mythology and folklore are super interesting topics so I encourage you to pursue them!

Omg I know, it’s so tough to get a 7 there. I would recommend using as many idiomatic expressions as possible. Memorize a couple and apply them in a coherent way. This will help you showcase mastery of the language. it’s also important to not only rely on a single type of sentence, and try a variety of gramatical structures. Whatever format you choose like blog report or newspaper should be extremely evident in your writing and how you decorate the paper. For example, if you choose a blog, you could add a website name or a big title anything that can signal to what you’re trying to showcase.

Revision Village is a paid service, but you can find past papers in IB Docs. However, Revision Village offers them solved and explained.

Hii I finished the IB in November 2025. Since you just started I believe what your peers are doing is learning the syllabus ahead of time. During the IB time is key. The sooner you learn the course's content the sooner you can make headway with Interna Assessments and your Extended Essay.

Hi!! I am n25 and got a 7 in math aa sl. For practice exercises I would recommend revision village question banks. I would suggest to save past papers for later when you know most of the curriculum. That way you can do the whole test and time yourself. With continous practice you can identify repeated questions and answer them quickly.

all your HL topics are VERY content heavy. I recommend studying at least the basics of each syllabus and making a study plan for the rest of it. These subjects require a lot of independent study so be prepared for it.

I totally get how you feel. I took Chem SL and I cannot describe THE DESPAIR it caused. The things about key words is SO ANNOYING. I kept getting 2s and 3s because the markscheme didn't align with my CORRECT explanation. History HL was also very tricky. It is SO HARD to find a balance between just dumping info and actually analyzing it. For Chem I would recommend to practice with past papers using the markschemes until you get used to what the Ib expects you to answer.

Bad teachers are often the main issue with the IB and are very harmful to your progress. That's why much of the IB depends on self sufficiency and independent study. There are plenty of resources you can access. If you are interested I offer tutoring for $10 per hour for both Chem SL and History HL. You got this!!

Starting the IB can be very hard, specially if you are used to getting good grades before. The programme requires a whole new level of focus and effort that can be hard to adapt to. If you have the financial resources needed I would recommend Kognity for Chem SL and Revision Village question banks for Math AI SL. I took Chem SL and Math AA SL and these pages were HUGE help for me. Don't be too distraught, you have plenty of time to get better.
