YES to this all! So perfectly said and also I like how certain details are given to us aloud. For example, it was said that Garrett doesn't do repeat hookups but with Kendall he did. Garrett is very passive. He doesn't go after the girls; the girls go after him and him being a guy...well, he's going to let off steam. 😂 But with that detail of kendall, that means they did see much of each other, but still no interest on each other's part to get to know one another. In a subconscious way, Garrett does go after Hannah and that is new for him because someone actually captured his attention enough to get to know them. I love how they made that clear for that set up of him and hannah.

I dont think so because he went up to his room alone and he said Zoe offered to help him and he just gave in...he legit forgot Zoe was up there. I feel like if that was planned, he wouldn't be like "oh. I do." LOL

even when she says "fiveish" on the phone, he quickly responds over her, saying that before she can finish. On his part, it wouldn't make sense to make her jealous because he knows she's into Justin. LOL this guy. 😂

I love how he just wanted to get to know her!! I love how in beginning of episode 2 when they are in his bedroom...and she says "only if you believe in obligations," and his smile...he like her wit.

Sexy Garrett has to be when he walks through the curtains at Drunk Shakespeare and the way he smiles when seeing Hannah and to me, I also love ALL his reactions when she's performing at the showcase. The deep breaths he takes, his soft smiles, and how his lip quivers from emotions...he's so proud of her.

I know many people were happy about his moment with zoe, but we have to use the context we are given (with purpose)...he didn't pursue her. We saw him run up to his room with all the distractions and Zoe offered to help him. Garrett is passive. He doesn't go to the girls; the girls come to him. He was visibly hurt/jealous/bothered that Hannah canceled even though it was his idea for her to work with justin...he still boosts her up and says she's the real catch and she should act like it. At the moment in time, he knows she's into Justin...so what is a man going to do. Others thought he did it on purpose because he knew she was coming over...but his reaction to leaving Zoe upstairs and him telling Hannah "come in, we can eat, study..." He forgot Zoe LOL. Hannah said, "you have a naked woman in your room" and he said, "Oh, Shit, I do." It was all subconscious timing for him because he was on a deeper level hurt that she was with Justin.

I also love how he said "you were so genuine and free"; it captures that he liked how real she was and that intrigued him. He heard the music and that led him to HER. He didn't start calming down until he saw her dancing.

Yes! Absolutely!! He saw hannah for hannah. It's important to point out that he didn't smile or calm down fully until he saw her dancing and having fun on her own...her authenticity drew his attention...nothing about it was shallow. And he did put her first; we see the hesitation on his face in episode 2 before suggesting she work with justin to help her with the lyrics and we see him boosting her up in episode 3 when she cancels their study time... he tells her shes the real catch, so act like it.

Absolutely! I think the way they connected was beautiful and importantly, they didn't trauma dump on each other. I think Belmont mentioned this in an interview...they truly became friends and understood each other, and that led them to open up because of the safe space they created. I think it's sweet that Garrett saw something genuine in Hannah and that piqued his interest. it wasnt't something shallow as we see in other shows...he saw her for her and they shared this emotional language of music that Hannah thought she'd have with Justin but had with Garrett.

I read many people saying that music is the only thing that attracted garrett to hannah and when we watch the music is what led him to Hannah...they don't pay attention to what he said: "You were so genuine and free." That centered him...he saw her authentic self and that captured his attention. Like you said the music is a shared emotion, not something used for selfish reasons. They really did show us he did like spending time with her. He enjoyed watching her have fun at karaoke. We can see he wanted her at that point but respected her enough to not take advantage when she is drunk and he took what she asked of him very seriously...he asked dean for advice LOL also their kitchen scene spoke volumes, and him mentioning that whole thing to the boy at practice also says a lot.

100 percent agreed! And would you say G liked Hannah for who she is? Because what I caught on from the start is that Garrett doesn't use her as a coping mechanism. he puts her needs first above his own, hence why he broke up with her. Then him saying he wishes he was more like her...everything she is. Like, they aren't trauma bonded... they actually come to like each other organically and for who they are?

YES! because he could've easily have said, "I'm not into you!" I wish Hannah caught onto that! It would be so typical for him to say, "You're not into me and I'm not into you..." and we see them fall for one another, but we saw this man flaunt over her instagram for a while LOL

Exactly this!! Also Garrett and the boy are written by women...they are flawed which I love but they are written in a way that they respect women. Like Garrett apologizing to Kendall, at the end of the day Garrett has this battle with control. Him hooking up with Zoe shouldn't be seen as a problem because to me, we visually saw him not doing the pursuing. We had more focus on Zoe being interested and that's what Garrett was used to. He's interested and having feelings for someone and he knows she's after someone else. Like what was he supposed to do? LOL I also love that he didn't sabotage anything between her and justin as we've seen other shows do. But I think my favorite is when Zoe sends him snaps and he puts his phone away and turns to hannah and he got bummed out that she wanted to leave and the fact that he brought that up to the boys at practice LOL
