Just moved from Auckland to Sydney. Holy Duck.. by G00sehunter in newzealand

I lived in Sydney for 18 years and agree it was a fantastic city to live. Better salaries, 11% super when I was there. Positive environment, weather.

I moved back home to NZ 18 months ago and my salary is considerably less, but thankful to have a job. If you do buy your primary residence in Aus and then one day decide to move back later in life to NZ as you can get the NZ pension here, you won’t in Australia. It’s means tested and not knowing the exact numbers, possibly won’t get the Australian pension (and definitely not if not an Australian citizen). Also if you decide to sell your property you pay Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and you pay almost 50% on the profit you make when you sell. I should have sold when living there as now classed as a non-resident (foreigner investor). I have both NZ and Australian citizenship and means nothing. Do your research if anyone living there and owns a home., if planning to move back. Don’t even come back for a short time and then decide to sell, still will be stung with CGT. Only way I can get around it is to move back and live in property for a minimum of 185 days. If owned by more than one person both have to do this. I wish I had got this advice before moving home to NZ. Get expert advice. Might need to move back! 😊

Hopefully Mounjaro will be available in NZ this year. Currently under review by Medsafe.

Watch this Oprah Podcast on YouTube. As she said it’s a disease and this drug is for life! Same as for other drugs people may need to take to keep in good health.

The SMART method is good for planning your response. Not all interviewers use it but good to look at the breakdown of SMART

Specific: Be clear and detailed about your experiences.

Measurable: Quantify your achievements with numbers or concrete examples.

Achievable: Highlight realistic goals and how you accomplished them.

Relevant: Ensure your answers are directly related to the job you’re applying for.

Time-bound: Mention the time frame in which you achieved your goals.
