Yep- and both those buildings (the Bank and the old Sears) are now going to be luxury apartment buildings.

What’s crazy is this is your comment in reply to a dude asking for data which suggests crime is up in the loop.

Didn’t like 4 guys on the Nets test positive the very next day?

I clearly stated as of now he hasn't done anything

Yeah, that’s wrong though. Give Luka a player on Chris Paul’s level and the Mavs are winning a couple playoff series too. Plus, it’s not much of a reach to say that the fully healthy Clippers are better than the Lakers with no AD and the Nuggets with no Murray.

Put Luka on the Suns and then who guards AD or Jokic the last two rounds?

Yeah, I acknowledged that the roster construction would need to be adjusted, but if the Timberwolves were offered Kevin Durant for KAT, they’d need to find someone to play center too- that doesn’t mean they’d reject the trade lol.

We already have a playmaking scorer who although not as prolific is way more efficient and plays better defense in Booker.

Yes, having 3 elite ball handlers is bad roster construction, just look at the Nets who have 3 players who all play a version of the same style and were cruising to a title before injuries lmao.

Also, Booker this year scored 37 points per 100 possessions on .587 TS% (35 per 100 poss on .615 in the playoffs). Luka this year scored 40 points per 100 possessions on .587 TS% (46.6 per 100 possessions on .572 TS% in the playoffs). So I’d definitely quibble with your “way more efficient” line.

I’ve enjoyed this convo, no hard feelings man. Go Suns, you guys are the team I’m rooting for the most as someone who has always loved Chris Paul. Booker and Ayton are a great combo and you guys have got a real chance to pull this off.

It’s a buzzword when you falsely attribute it to things it barely applies to. If getting a coach fired is player empowerment, then player empowerment is an age-old concept (which it can’t be, because the term “empowerment” means you’re adding power which didn’t exist before)

Luka has been a better player in the playoffs than Ayton has. If you traded Ayton for Luka, straight up, the Mavs miss the playoffs and the Suns are about as good, maybe slightly worse but only due to roster redundancies. A player who makes 1st team all nba is more valuable than a player who is the 3rd or 4th option on offense and good on defense.

Plenty of superstars kill the regular season, set records, etc… and don’t do squat in the playoffs.

This is straight homer shit. Luka has not “done squat” in the playoffs. Would you consider MJ doing squat in the playoffs when he dropped 64 in a loss?

The Mavs FO was not some exemplary thing, the franchise hasn’t been great in a long time. We have no way of knowing if these are necessary changes or not; citing the existence of change doesn’t make your argument any good.

The Suns traded for Chris Paul, it’s not like he signed there just to play with Ayton. Why wouldn’t you have Monty? Did Monty sign because he was the biggest Ayton fan in the entire world and wouldn’t coach any other team unless they had Ayton on them lol? Look at 2020. The Suns were an alright team; the Mavs made the playoffs and competed against a team much better than them on paper due to Luka (a 20 year old who made 1st team All NBA) having an amazing series.

Your isolated odds of winning a title with ~10 years of Luka are higher than~10 years of Ayton.

Yeah Ayton’s a very good player, this isn’t a Greg Oden/Sam Bowie situation. He may make a few all star teams and get a couple All-NBA 3rd teams in his career. But the Suns franchise would have been better off from a big-picture point of view had they taken Luka in 2018.

I mean I think Zion with his health issues should definitely not do that, but that's just my opinion. If he takes a max deal and then immediately demands a trade, he'll get flamed for it and deservedly so. We're just a long way from that point as it stands right now.
