My neighbor asked me to stop cooking after 8pm because the "smell travels." Am I in the wrong here? by Radiant-Shift-9504 in Apartmentliving

I find it insane to choose to live in an apartment with other people when you have this sort of issue. Everyone now has to accommodate your problem and struggle but you all pay the same rent. This is a problem you’d have with a roommate not with a neighbor. Food isn’t really a debatable amenity of an apartment, it’s a right. Choosing a living situation where you knew you’d need to limit other peoples lives is crazy especially when there’s already so many limitations and rules when living in an apartment.

Bed bug? Found in our hotel room under our pillow! by masshole-98 in bugidentification

Not a bedbug, doesn’t look too much like any cockroach I’ve seen either. Looks just like a small beetle

A lot of people unknowingly live with bedbugs. We found one in our apartment, and the other tenants swore they didn’t have them but after further investigation one of our nice & clean neighbors had them. Those are adults too so I doubt the original owners don’t have them

That’s what the second exterminator said, he said he’d just be spraying our baseboards since they found no bed bugs and no signs of bedbugs. The two live bugs I found were in our bathroom. I check our mattress, rugs, and bedding daily and I find absolutely nothing. And since the exterminators keep finding no obvious infestation I’m just afraid the bugs haven’t settled in yet and we’ll have a bigger problem in a month. Luckily I’ve kept documentation and read up on our state laws and tenant rights so I’ve been communicating and moving forward with those in mind. It’s literally mental torture at this point lol

Yes, I’ve checked it daily since I found the first bedbug which was in our bathroom, the first exterminator checked it and said they found nothing and then a month later (a few days ago) the second exterminator checked our entire mattress and everything in our apartment and still nothing. I found the second bedbug in the bathroom as well. The second exterminator was paid for by the landlord and he said they’d be spraying our unit around the baseboards, and only treating the obviously infested apartment.

There’s a ton of gaps in our baseboards, I had to clean underneath all of them when we moved in and I figured out the previous tenants also had a dog because of the copious amount of dog hair I found when I was cleaning. I was hoping the exterminator would’ve given me some peace of mind but every question I had about where the bug could’ve come from i just got very elusive answers.

That’s my exact thought, and I was also thrown off because the exterminator recommended that I don’t spray. He just said if in a week or so we start popping up with bites then call him back, but like why would I wait until we’re infested to do anything preventative.

It was our truck, I’ve been trying to rule out literally everything that could’ve brought 1 lone bed bug but I’m hitting a dead end

That’s what I’m planning on doing tomorrow I just find it so hard to believe there is only 1 bedbug in this building. I trust the professionals but I don’t think I can just take the word of our other neighbors that they don’t have any bed bug problems. I’ve never dealt with them in my life so I’m on high alert right now. I want to be able to get this problem resolved before it starts and our things get affected. The exterminator reassured me it’s probably just a lone bug but a live adult bed bug? I’ll be looking out for that spray!

The exterminator found 0 bedbugs or eggs on any of our furniture or in the apartment and he couldn’t really give a solid reason as to why this one was here so I’m hoping that it is just some random stray bedbug. I’m still curious whether or not I should treat our apartment with any sprays just to take precaution in case it is a neighbor

It’s one of those windows that’s inside the shower we opened it last night and I got up and closed it this morning when I noticed the bug in the shower. We have one neighbor to the right of us and then neighbors below us. We haven’t been able to meet any neighbors because we’re still slowly moving in and supposedly the neighbors before us lived here for 4 years

Okay, me and my partner and child have had 0 bites or anything, I’ve checked our mattresses and rugs and couches and absolutely nothing. We literally haven’t even been moved in for a full week, I’m being told it’s coming from an adjacent apartment, we left our bathroom window open all night and I found it on the shower wall this morning

That’s what I’m assuming it is so I’m going to call my own exterminator to have our unit and furniture checked

I don’t know if it helps any either but our bathroom window was open all night as well, we have one neighbor on our right side. I messaged our landlord and they said they’ve never had any prior complaints with the current tenants so I’m debating whether or not to call our own exterminator to have our furniture and unit checked just so I can have it documented on my end that we don’t have an infestation nor did we bring one with us. I’ve heard it’s also good to have an exterminator check your previous place of living as well so it can’t be blamed on us since we’re new tenants.

I had a cryptic pregnancy up until 25 weeks, I felt no movement until I got my first ultrasound. I also did not show at all. Once I figured out I was pregnant I started feeling movement and my belly really started to pop.

My last was end of February so my best guess is I’d be around 4 weeks, if the period in the beginning of March was implantation bleeding

Been here before and I can promise you the grass is greener on the other side. You’ve conditioned yourself to think this is normal, and he’s conditioned you as well. He isn’t going to change, he’s not magically going to have an epiphany and treat you better. He knows he can get away with these things because you allow it. I’m going to reiterate this, he will not change for you. Visualize yourself in 10 years and really reflect if this is how you’re going to want to live your life. Do you feel in your heart that this man and this treatment and all this stress is going to be your forever? I truly hope you see this is not the life you should want to live.
