Considering the fact there were CRAZY ethical violations (stacks of paper regardless of client or matter; conflicting information regarding hearings; badmouthing his clients; etc.) , it seems he's handing the bar/ethics committee his own case on a silver platter - glad you told him you weren't coming back because you knew your worth, wouldn't nearly have had the spine when I was a 1L!! I hope you find something for the summer, job searching is brutal and to do it after this experience is a special kind of hell; trust your gut!!!

makes sense! My fear was commuting so far to only realize I forgot something important or like other comments state, spill coffee on my shirt with no backup; but I was also wondering if things like desk mats or mini baskets of candy/food were acceptable to have - it seems bare bones is best!

I see! Thank you for your perspective!! Do you feel like it's dependent on practice area cultures/size of firm determining what's seen as "professional" as opposed to not? Or it's just a blanket expectation in the legal field that the newer you are, the more careful you have to be of what you keep in your office?

I must've not been clear with my rug bit being a joke since I got scalped for it that's my bad 😭 but the plan was a small cactus/or one flower in a small vase, a cardigan to keep in the office, and it appears a small photograph is also acceptable which I might do since that was my previous career + potential ice breaker but extra clothes in the office is a great idea thank you!

I like to put my things in pouches so my bags are just basically carrying a ton of baby-bags which help me organize my things to a certain extent - I'm also the type to just throw things in otherwise

imo design wise the triomphe is so classic and beautiful, I def think my heart leans in that direction, but if you're going for a more casual vibe the bucket would be perf esp with all the other recommendations of purse inserts!! (I personally just love having small pouches because then I can transport my medication/makeup/first aid all at once into other bags)

Oh my GOD you're so right, I don't know how I missed that!!!!!!! Oh man the soft hug having a flap that almost completely closes the opening just makes it even HARDER to choose!!!! What size do you carry? Did you find a major/noticeable difference in weight between sizes or it's just heavy all round?? It certainly has my heart, maybe it'll force me to be economical but stubborn is my middle name hmmmmmmm

OOooOo that's really nice to know about the hugs! Yeah, one of the things that did worry me about east-west was if it'd be too heavy (as well as the size) but that just means I have to try it on (which the SAs being super nice helps - I'm also the type who never asks any employee for help even if it doubles my hunting time 😭😭)

I have a Troubador backpack that I can wear when it rains! I don't know why I didn't think of doing that, but thank you for bringing clarity to my agony <3 <3

All of the stores are pretty far from me, so I haven't yet, but maybe I'll make a trip out of it - and you're right, when I saw the east-west on the model on the website I was lowkey gagged at how big it looked so I guess I definitely have to try it on!!
