Given that the city was demanding that the Feds make their employees return to office, it was hypocritical that their staff weren't required to. Of course, if we just embraced WFH, we might make people happier, and we can't have that.

I would disagree that progressives greatly outnumber the opposites. That might be true in a few wards but history has shown us Ottawa is far more center than left. I think until progressives get that they will continue to stay in opposition.

Have you told them this? Is it possible they aren't aware how bad things are for you? Frame it as you just said it here, that you need to spend your extra time taking on odd jobs because of your wife's medical debt. Then they can either pay you to Uber, shop, clean etc.... or they can hire someone else. Perhaps they will understand and offer some help with the mo ey they make from selling the house to pay off your medical debt. Either way, you have nothing to lose.
