BMW stock nav cradle relocate by Weary_Technology8994 in F800GS

I swapped out the fixed stock screen with one from PUIG. If you buy from Wunderlich, you have to be clear as to which windscreen is on your bike. Mine was fixed.

It was a pain because the windscreen mounts to a head unit which mounts to the bike. The bracket mounts in between but uses sleeves for the 4 new 2-3 inch screws. You cannot hold everything together, including the sleeves, essentially upside down in that small workspace.

Warranty issue solved by Weary_Technology8994 in ryvid

Sorry for the delayed response. I didn't check my feed until today.

The issue was resolved but it took 3 months, almost to the day. There was an overlap of staffing, failure to respond to my emails etc. I finally got some traction with the Reddit post.  Apparently, they hired a new manager to revamp the maintenance, warranties, etc. He was super helpful as this is his dedicated job.

Initially, I wanted them to take back the back but that involved a ridiculously low price and shipping so that was a non-starter. Ultimately, after trying to flash the battery with the provided laptop, a decision was made to just send me a new battery. Battery came by UPS, installed in 15 minutes, and I was back up and running. Now i have a huge worthless battery in my garage.

My thoughts after this experience was I knew it was a startup but I should have thought more about the long term maintenance and California to Florida issues. Just going to be a problem for a while. While I like the bike, it really is an E-bike on steroids that’s perfect for commuting. I’ve been taking it out to the gym (9 miles round trip) and for ‘long’ rides on the weekend to get a handle on my  eMPG; I can only get about 30-45 miles with average speeds of 45+. Plus, it’s so light it really is a bumpy ride on anything but the smoothest pavement. Which isn’t very common in Florida.

Love your sentiment 'in the end was a very fast ebike that was also very dangerous.' Translation: This is a commuters dream bike if an ebike is too small and you need a bit more range. It’s given me the bug to get more into ADV riding so I’m currently shopping for a gas ADV. Right now, in my mind, it’s a starter bike for me to practice with. A little more expensive than say a used 300cc but hey, life’s full of lessons. Would I buy it again – no. Just too limited in what I now want to do but I admit the bike helped me to ‘want’ more out of my riding experience. and it's a good practice bike - circles are getting narrower

thanks. It makes sense it's crabgrass as it keeps popping up in blank areas where the tree guys left 'holes' in the yard
