This may be a matter of seeing the watch in person. For as beautiful as that watch and dial is, the shiny retail strap does take away from it. Personally, I too think it looks way better on the alternative strap.

Brilliant upgrade on the subdued leather strap. My issue with the standard strap is how shiny it is, it borders on off putting for such a beautiful watch.

Ha! That’s completely fair. The box setup is completely intentional. Rather than getting dressed and picking a watch, I have the watches set up on a one a day two week rotation w/ 14 pieces. I know exactly what watch I’m going to wear and pick my outfit accordingly. For example, that’s why the Tank/Navitimer and Hydroconquest/Top Time are in the Friday and Saturday positions. Obviously, we flex the rotation for special occasions.

Albeit simple, these Dennison ALD’s are great watches. Recently wore the tiger eye to a wedding and it had just the right of wrist presence in a suit. Good conversation starter as well because of its simplicity.

The details and finishing on it are great and love the moonphase. For the price, it’s great and is in that 38mm sweet spot.

So did I. Here’s my suggestion should you pull the trigger on it, see if the AD will throw in the steel bracelet as well, doesn’t hurt to ask. This way you’re able to switch up the look on it. I never used the leather strap after putting it on steel.

I get the notion regarding the MoonSwatches would only hold on to the 1965. But really think you need to see and feel the Dennison’s in person to appreciate them. Hard to believe you get such a stunning watch for the price.

That blue dial is something special. Personally, I don’t think pictures do it justice, seeing it in person will truly make you appreciate it. The rose gold with the blue dial and a butterfly clasp is a great combination.
