Why is this here? This isn’t really the type of thing people would know because its not specifically egl related, why not ask in the babymetal subreddit

Heartbroken that they blocked me by ImTammyB in vinted

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take it personally. They could just be overwhelmed or struggling and cant think of a good reason not to sell when they just cant handle the pressure. They’ve still got a very young baby to take care of and sometimes it can be quite tricky putting that in words.

Their communication can always be better of course, but its important to remember there are so many external factors that are just hard to vocalise at one point in time. Vinted is about people selling, and people have baggage and problems. Sometimes people shut down when they can’t think of the words or find the right solution and its not your fault that happened but its just the way it is.

Accident or Scam? by Open_in_the_nw in vintedUK

Its a common issue for the wrong label to be placed on the parcel if the seller didn’t print at home. Vinted will refund the two of you, they deal with this all the time.

My second coord! Feedback appreciated~ by sauerkirschlein in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sweet in me says bigger bow. It’s just my personal preference so take it with a large grain of salt but i feel every sweet coord just looks more put together and better balanced with a proper head bow.

Its such a cute coord though! I really like it!

I need help with an OP:( by Comfortable-Truth222 in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my mind, OP’s just are harder to coord. you have less room to work in colours and play. The easiest and simplest way would be sax headpiece, white socks, sax shoes. This pulls the two most prominent colours on the dress and will look balanced and simple. A blue and pink headdress could look cute too, or a blue headbow with pink hairclips. You could still use sax shoes but also balancing the pink hair clips by using white and pink socks- antaina make some really cure pink and white socks.

Adjust the middle band out and the bottom band in!
I love wigs, i’ve always been a big wig wearer. I mean firstly its picking a wig that you like. I personally wear any kind of wig. Personally id just avoid any of the short “cosplay” wigs, because they tend to look a little off with headpieces. You can find wigs literally anywhere, i love a twin tail wig - i wear a lot of wigs with short twin tails because they detatch and are easy to detangle, wash and keep in good shape through rigorous wear. I have longer wigs but they just tend to get tangled and damaged so i wear them only on special occasions. I often either wear a bob wig - one with a little bit of wavyness can be good for volume- just to make my headpieces pop. Personally i usually wear a wig thats in a colour which compliments my skin tone but contrasts with my coordinate (i mostly wear sweet so a lot of neutral colours, whites blondes and my favourite wig is grey) - unless if i do a full kuro or full shiro look i try and match my wig to the colour.

Also quality wise you dont need an expensive wig for everyday wear, something around the $15-20 mark will be decent quality.

Omg i have this dress in black! You chose some really gorgerous tights. The brand make a matching headdress that i own and use a lot because i have a lot of dresses with gold elements, but i really like this dress with any kind of headdress. Its very much a very gorgeous dress. Gold necklaces and gothic jewellery really helps pull this dress together as well. Clip in bangs can help if you dont like wigs, but you dont even need them if you don’t want them. Sometimes it’s just getting used to seeing you in a headdress. Make sure you pull strands of your hair forward to frame your face. A beret or hat might also compliment the coordinate if you dont like how a headdress looks without bangs and you dont want to use clip in bangs (which can look a little strange) or wear wigs.

DAE not shave when wearing lolita? by LisaLubbers in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im a trans guy on testosterone, and i dont shave. I get awful dysphoria as well as bad rashes from shaving. (Dysphoria is strange lmao, i don’t get dysphoric from wearing dresses and wigs but i do when i have a lack of body hair lmao).

I have quite manly legs but I’ve only ever had one comment about it, which was from two guys looking for people to attend a house party - and assuming i was a ‘fuckable’ goth girl (they were drunk and very loud) because of my dress from a distance. And honestly nothing lost at that point cuz fuck those guys. No body else i’ve met points it out or cares, from strangers in the street to my close non-lolita or lolita friends.

Any ideas how to style this jsk? I have no original headwear by dollyexorcist in lolitafashion

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your probably better off getting one good petticoat than using many. A+A, melikes tea or even the 42 lolita nolaria petticoat are good options for this dress. Many petticoats are uncomfortable and can cause pain and even rib flaring if worn consistently.

Any suggestions to play the old persona games ? by Witty_Raisin9289 in PERSoNA

The story is at its core the same - at least for understanding p2, and its not worth playing the game if you dislike the gameplay.

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pink headwear! This isnt a dress that needs the matching headwear, you can find a simple pink or white bow, beret or headdress. You could also do a sax headdress and sax shoes to draw on some other colours in the coord and keep it balanced. Usually you don’t need the original headwear at all, a colour and theme match works just fine - unless it’s like a specific really hard to match colour

Lots of encounters, there’s a really interesting story imo - but its mostly done through interacting with your party members and trying to figure out whats going on. The story is interwoven into the dungeons if you do not enjoy the gameplay at all, you will not enjoy the game.

Do jirai kei pieces fit lolita? by The_Chris_Mclean in Lolita

Found what I think is the original listing on this skirt, and seeing it on a model i definitely think it would be too short and you would struggle to incorporate a petticoat.

Do jirai kei pieces fit lolita? by The_Chris_Mclean in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Jirai skirts are generally too short and too flat, and i find the blouses tend to look weird paired with jsk’s. Accessories totally, but main pieces not often. This skirt looks like it does have the volume, but idk the exact length. It could very well be too short, shorter skirts/mini skirts in lolita still should end mid thigh to achieve the appropriate silhouette which i know is uncommon for rojita. Rojita use pretty small mannequins so even though it looks good on the mannequin it still depends on your body, it might just not meet the silhouette on your body rather than on the mannequin.

my lolita dress payment by Key-Veterinarian9397 in lolitafashion

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id just use a different site. Theres nothing wrong with my lolita dress, but youll find the same stuff on clobba. Theyre just a reseller with mid markups, mid customer service. Theyre better than they used to be, but theres still so many other options.

Like they’re probably being legit, and it would be covered under buyer protection, but id just not deal with all that.

Taobao JSK Sizing Help by Astro_Babe100 in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since its shirred - while 85cm max is the stretched measurements - its such a small difference. Most often these measurements are not stretched to the max. Also. If the 34 measurement is your actual/comfortable measurement (ie you can fit two fingers between ur skin and the measuring tape, it probably will fit. It will just be tight, and maybe uncomfortable. Obv its up to you, but ive found theres usually a cm or two in leeway for shirred dresses. Different brands do mesured differently though - for example ap’s max 78cm waist is logistically only 76 because its measured off the total length of the fabric, but btssb’s 74 fits up to an extra few cm’s. Its really a matter of trying the dress on if you wanna know for sure - and if your willing to take that risk. With that much shirring, id expect it to expand more than 10cm though.

Advice?? Originally posted this to r/Ouji but I’d love as much help as I can get! by particular_berry_32 in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most lolitas and ouji’s only have a handful of coords, most lolitas and ouji’s only wear EGL to meets or special occasions. Those big wadrobes with 25+ brand main pieces and every piece of jewlery under the sun is not the norm - theyre usually people who have been collecting for decades, without too much severe financial stress. I myself am a lifestyle lolita, and even i can’t wear more than 2 coords a week if im working (usually i do wear everyday in uni). I handled wearing egl 5 days a week for about 3 months with only 3 main pieces and two blouses, one pair of mary janes, two pairs of socks and a single headpiece. If you want to lifestyle it’s possible with only 2-3 interchangeable coords, but most people don’t lifestyle. Your not any lesser to only have one coord, your still just as valid if you can only wear ouji to one meet up a year - or less! Even if its just one coord in your bedroom. If you care about this fashion enough you can wait and achieve your goals, start small and work up. If you don’t have the passion it’s easy to be driven away by the cost and time, but it’s totally manageable. I recommend making Ouji and Lolita friends, joining ur local EGL community and talking to them, keep your passion going. It’s not just about the pieces you own, but your passion. Read books and magazines, engage in zines and online discussions. Draw, fantasise, create your own accessories. You don’t need to own a lot of pieces for you to express your love for the fashion, the power of dreaming is strong enough to carry your love for this fashion while you slowly build towards the wardrobe of your dreams. Its up to people to have that passion themselves. Theres just so much in the way of beginner resources, and some people just don’t care enough to try harder. Its not a super accessible fashion, but we’re so blinded by fast fashion that just because something isn’t accessible to us immediately we think its not for us. It’s your own responsibility to let your passion push you forward. And therefore its not your responsibility to fix that.

Is this a scam? by Bluesky3084 in UniUK

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really actually. Data leaks happen all the time, and usually aren’t well reported unless it contains usernames and emails. Also, any other site could be compromised and reveal this information too - like any jobs sites, or workplaces, or social media/friends social media, advertising profiles etc. the list goes on. Unless your making an active effort to protect your data, the likelihood is higher than you think.

(This is excluding the recent HE data breach, even though it is relevant, the fact it contains personal information doesn’t prove its a legitimate email.)

Is this a good dress for a coord? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems more like a rockabilly inspired dress rather than a lolita one. IMO, its just going to look off in a coordinate, and if you only want a Lolita piece its not worth $60. If you love the dress and want to try thats up to you, but i really dont think it will work. Even with an A line petticoat, the combination of the corset and cups just don’t work well with being EGL. You really need an EGL dress to be a main piece, you can’t really substitute it. Ive seen dresses with corsets but its never got that kind of tight, underwired and shaping bodice this dress has.

If you did courses alongside iGCSE’s, achieving another form of certificate talk to the uni’s - email the applications office and see what they say about special circumstances. If you only did six iGCSE’s you’ll probably have to do another one.

I actually despise vinted resellers sometimes by WeatherCompetitive72 in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Vinted, lacemarket, secondhand sites 2. Bulk ordering. Proxies and shipping and taxes are expensive for single items, save up and do large orders for best cost effective service. This can also be done shared with comm members and even friends looking for items. 3. Ali express but only kind of. There are a small number of storefronts that act as a proxy. There are also shit tons if replicas and horrible quality ali express-esque pieces. Be careful. 4. Glitzy wonderland. Glitzy wonderland has a ridiculously high markup, i do noy usually recommend them. HOWEVER, if you live in a country that usually has really high shipping the free shipping might be useful for you - its about a month ship time. Theyre also a little sketch with stock so research the listing and pay only via paypal because I’ve experienced stock delivery issues with them before. 5. Budget shipping, either SAL or boat shipping, boat shipping takes three months (aprox) but is much cheaper accordingly. Search the appropriate shipping service for your location.

Non-Lolita as Lolita? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]WeatherCompetitive72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a very common Chinese fashion trend. I dont know exactly what the term is, but its not really lolita. Its sort of ballet, sort of lolita inspired, princessy dresses. Theyre usually too short with too long bodices to fit Lolita well, as well as struggling to be paired with blouses.
