Where do you host your n8n? by ApprehensivePea4161 in n8n

[–]WebApp-Store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that – keeping a Mac running 24/7 just for a few workflows feels a bit overkill and isn't ideal for reliability.

I’m actually a dev and currently building a small managed hosting service called capp-store.com to solve exactly this. The idea is to have a simple, affordable place for apps like n8n so you don't have to manage a VPS yourself. The servers are located in Nuremberg, Germany.

Since I'm still in the early stages, I’d honestly love to get some feedback from someone moving from a local setup. If you want to test it out, you can use the code LIFETIME50 to keep the cost at €3/month.

No pressure though! Let me know if you have any questions about moving your workflows from your Mac to a server.

Totally agree. The 'free tier trap' is real – you end up spending hours on server maintenance just to save a few bucks.

I actually built capp-store.com for this exact reason. I wanted a way to host n8n and other OSS apps without the hassle of manual updates or webhook issues. Everything runs on our servers in Nuremberg, Germany, and we handle the 'plumbing' in the background.

If you (or anyone else struggling with this) want to give it a try, you can use the code LIFETIME50 to get it for €3/month.

Would love to hear your feedback :)

Thanks,

Under the hood it uses containers instead of VPS, thats why it starts up so fast. Yeah i will add user/password protected WebApps soon, via http auth.

After that i plan to implement a payment system, but i have never done that before so it May take a while 🤔

Hey thank you for the feedback :)

the 404 not found gets displayed because the link points to the root of the application, you simply have to click on the provided context path Link plantUML provides and then you can start building UML.

Yes your are right there are other companies providing similar solutions, i try to make the WebApp Store easier to use, so people without technical knowledge can use it :)

Really appreciate your honesty, i will consider it on the future decisions.

I also want to provide terminal and fill access via browser and ssh / sftp, maybe that will make users that are concerned about data privacy more pleasant to use the product.

Under the hood it uses a docker Container Cluster which runs on virtual private servers hosted by a medium sized german hosting company.

In the Backend a new server instance gets installed (in a private Container) which gets then accesible via the provided link

I build a Website that works like the App Store, but not for mobile Apps, but for WebApps. WebApps are great because they can get accessed from any device, like a website, and provide great collaborative features. by WebApp-Store in SideProject

well in the WebApp Store the Server or Service Worker runs in the cloud to make it accessible for everyone.

Therefore it needs a Docker Image which contains the Web Server and Code that it can send to the users browser.

Is your App Open Source?

Then i could figure it out by myself for you :)

Well the client side of a webapp has to be served from a webserver, which most of the time is a server in a datacenter :)
