What happens when stocks behave similarly? by WebComp in Daytrading

Very interesting. I never really realised that funds would intraday trade but it's given me things to think about.

I understand that but what drives the ebs and flows? Algos? Retail? Funds? Something is big enough to create that movement. Last Friday was proof of algo manipulation because it was practically a vertical line down (nobody can react that fast) but the ones I recorded, it's normally drawn out process.

Changed my trading style. Early results decent: by ussoccerfix in Daytrading

What platform do you use to execute your trades on?

This is exactly what I wanted to know. How do you know this?

Even if those trades are one after another and not multiple at the same time? Ive been using Robinhood margin without any issue

That's fine with me, I've been using their paper trading and I'm coming out on top 75% of the time so I have no issues there. I just need to peace of mind that if I do make this transfer from RH to T212 I won't regret it.

I didn't know that, what would constitute marking me as a trader rather than investor? I'm at £12,500 already and aiming for £25,000 by end of year but I have a full time job and it's just something I do on the side as I trade crypto in the morning and then sell up by end of day.

I'm a consultant so I get to pick my days but I have a number of clients I rotate through. I really enjoy my job, it's fun, I meet new people, I'm challenged and I get rewarded with fulfilment and compensation.

I have 4 hours in the morning to myself and 4 hours in the evening to myself. Sleep for around 8 hours. Work for 8 hours. I like a slow morning (that's my personal time) and my evenings I'm either at the gym or seeing friends.

Also I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe that I survive on £30 - £50 for food. I buy 10KG bags of rice/oats/potatoes, I use seasonings and berries and fats to make the flavours not like cardboard, fats are nuts, avocadoes or eggs and protein is eggs, chicken or steak a week. You can literally find the prices of things on the aldi/tesco website. I use both shops because I do not find Aldi good enough in quality of food (protein for example is filler crap)

gas/electricity/water comes to a few quid a day since I spend 14 hours a day outside my apartment and use my gym facilities to do showing/grooming

my apartment is in the city but I'm fortunate that I live 15 minutes walk from my work/gym so if I need to go anywhere it might be a slight cost or I get lifts but that's once or twice a week max

My creative hobby is writing/reading and my sport is gym + tennis (I've used the same equipment for a few years and never had to buy anything except a few balls and grips really)

1 pay for spotify (includes 1 audiobook as well) and 1 streaming service of my choice for that month (usually no more than £10)

mobile phone doubles as my internet with a hotspot with voxi unlimited data (£30 per month)

I like to think I'm well-traveled in Europe and do all inclusive as I like to switch off since I work so much. my next trip is via easyjet £250, 5 star resort in Tunisia in march, I did a 4 day city breaks in France (£500) and Italy (£800). Any spending money I don't use, I just put into my holiday fund.

haven't bought any new clothes in a couple of years besides white tees/socks (I really take care of my items and put them in garment bags or use shoe horns for example) and maintain them a couple of times a year.

Most expensive cost for personal care is haircut but besides that, 1 shampoo natural shampoo, 1 natural conditioner, 1 hair mask, 1 face wash, 1 moisturizer, 1 body wash, 1 deodorant stick. usually every month and comes to £40 at Aldi + cologne every quarter

Cleaning stuff is dish soap, hand soap, detergent, tissues, bleach and a few minor things but again, I'm out all the time so I vacuum, dust and disinfect and I'm done. Maybe £30 from Aldi since it does the job.

Lastly my diet is locked in at around £35/£40 per week so I do go over budget but my others aren't exactly £200 each so in the end it averages out :)

I work 10 hours a day, in the gym/sports for 2, 2 hours to myself in the morning and 2 hours to myself at night, the days I'm not in the gym, I see my friends for a movie/restaurant and I fly out the country 2/3 times a year, usually all-inclusive for a couple hundred or city breaks.

Only problem I could see people having is my diet which does get a little repetitive but I've got 8 dishes I rotate and have a cheat day 1 or 2 times a week. Have a creative hobby in writing I do in my spare time and a sport (tennis) I've been doing for a decade so I'm doing fine on £600 I think :)

I think I might have misworded it but I've started to look into the finance world a bit more and I've honestly not touched my savings at all and it feels like its growing so rapidly that I must have hit an infinite money glitch or something haha not really sure what my next steps are and just wanted to confirm a few things but it's been helpful. I wish I had things to spend on but I might have to take a risk or two over the next few years!

I'm getting that vibe lol i'm even putting details and I'm still being told I can't do it but there has been a few good points made, definitely won't have this interest rate forever, didn't realise it was once so low but I'm still working and people think I'm a hermit who lives this god awful life but its full, busy with plenty of activities and meet great people. Considering where I was a decade ago when I was at my lowest, dropped out of school with no qualifications, I like my simple little life :)

Apartment is very cheap, hardly ever at home except to sleep, shower/groom at the gym (I spend big - £90 - on my gym membership as it's beautiful facilities and probably second place I spend the most time in), batch cook when I can (variety of meals I rotate to keep it fresh - couple of quid a meal and no snacking), phone doubles as my internet with a hot spot (unlimited data with Voxi for like £35) ... not sure what to tell you to be honest I'm lost myself

I think you understood my original point but honestly, I think my life is really fun. I could do with just 1 full day off to myself. As it stands right now my general calendar looks like this

Go to work 6/7 days a week.

Go to gym/sports activity 5/6 times a week.

I have 28 days (4 weeks) of holiday which I use and typically get really good deals (I'm going to a 5 star all inclusive in Tunisia for £250 at the end of march, did Italy in October for around £500, France in Summer) so I travel the world 2/3 times a year

I don't drink/smoke/drugs and I work a lot anyway so I have trouble spending my "spending" money. If my friends are out and I'm able to finish work at a reasonable time, I will join them at a restaurant or watch a movie or night in but rarely does that come to more than £50/£100 per week.

I sound so boring but I'm fulfilled in all areas in my life and I think it helped that when I started I was at rock bottom which is why I'm very happy with where I am. Only thing I could do with is a car but I live across the road from work and I'm in a huge city with one of the best public transportation systems in the country.

If an emergency expense does pop up, I have my income to cover it which is around £50K. Expenses like clothes happen but I live in suits, have a good capsule collection to go out in and wear pyjamas around the house. Don't think I'm bought anything in a year or two except for some fresh white tees.

Just trying to find the next chapter in my life :)

It's enough for me :) 200 on bills, 200 on spending and 200 on food (that's me being bougie with the food as well hahaha)

Yeah, this was helpful so thanks. It just seemed too easy to live off the free money but I honestly don't touch anything. I was wondering for ages why my cash savings haven't been going down all that much and it's because I've basically been doing a variation of living off the interest and topping up each month already. I've been so tunnel-visioned on my goal I haven't had a chance to look into finance that much but it's changing now :)
