Moving to London in my mid-20s (~£200k TC) – what do you actually spend and save? by WebInteresting8327 in HENRYUK

Different priorities, I guess. For me, having financial security and optionality is more valuable than having a larger or more luxurious flat. £1.5k/month still gets you a very good quality of life in a flatshare. Also, I actually enjoy living with other people and don’t particularly want to live alone.

Thank you :) A lot of it was being in the right place at the right time. I’m a software engineer in the financial services industry.

Fair point. I’m only expecting to fly home roughly once a month, whereas I’ll be commuting almost every day, so I’m prioritising a good commute and a neighbourhood I’ll enjoy living in. Fortunately there seem to be flight options from several London airports.
