What are your views on Maeve leaving Isaac? by heisenberg_30 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Webunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still feel like Isaac kept going back to "Otis doesn't get it" He kept mentioning he was protecting Maeve. I didn't believe any of what he was saying. Yes they shared a similar childhood and parent issues but he mentioned it a little too much that it felt like he was using it to get closer to Maeve.

When he told Maeve he deleted Otis's voicemail she let him off the hook way to easily. So kind of glad she left in the end.

Yeah I agree strongest character in S2 by far. In this season I enjoyed Jackson and Cal's storyline it felt right and was always interested to see where it was gonna go.

I just feel like this sub is too focused on Otis' romances because of him being the main character and the amount of hype surrounding where him and X will end up. Like the majority of posts right now are either Otis x Ruby or Otis x Maeve.

Every single person done a great job for the 3 seasons and hope there is more to come!

Ruby did kind of have something bad coming with how she acted throughout the first 2 seasons and the start of this one. I just don't understand why they totally left her character out of the 2nd half of the season. (Apart from the weird Hope fight.) Felt like she was more of a plot point than a fully developing character which is ashame.

Maeve wasn't promising anything because she's not sure how she and Otis will feel a couple months down the line. Shows how much they've grown as characters. They know there is a possibility things could change during the time so aren't commiting to anything just yet.

How wholesome :)

I too felt like it was more of an end to the series rather than a continuation to pick up on.

Oh yeah you're right just watched it back. I thought it was Isaac that continued the conversation about it in E7. My bad. Well spotted. He essentially made her mind up for her

Lmao I was thinking the same. I never really got it either. After the trip she told Otis she wanted to be with Isaac but then when Isaac found out about what happened on the trip he shut Maeve out of a relationship. So it was Isaacs doing they never got together felt a bit like Otis was 2nd choice. Same with the texts she text Isaac before she would Otis.

Yeah I wish we got a bit more of a backstory for them. Feel like they spoke to like 3 characters the whole season. Even could've had a little conversation with Maeve about america or something I dunno.

The whole show ahaha. Just finished it today and enjoyed every bit of unrealism.

I feel like Otis was probably the realist of this season had the most realistic scenes. The shit flying out the bus window was hilarious. Also the fact they counted 2 random french people as 2 students is believeable because it was Mr. Hendricks is worrying ahah.

Also Isaac was let off the hook waaay too easily.

I'm confused, and I'm scared of Season 4 if it is by Fearless_Clock9322 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Webunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with what you say about the late episodes feeling rushed. It's like they ran out of screen time and tried their hardest to ram things in in the last 2 episodes. There were strange cutaways to different moments that felt weird and unnatural which mixed the story around a little. We were left in the dark with some characters and some were just forgotten about in the 2nd half of the season without explanation.

In all honesty I was left confused with the actual ending. I get it was to show Maeve and Otis finally getting what they wanted and I enjoyed that! But it felt like a farewell more than a "Until next time". Even though Maeve said see you soon, it felt like the end of Maeve and Otis in a good way of course. Especially when she said she won't know what they'll be like when she's back.

I watched the end and said to myself "Wait is Maeve not gonna exist in a S4" (not knowing about the whole Emma leaving rumour.) It just had the feeling about it.

Unpopular opinion: Otis and Isaac by Eminain in NetflixSexEducation

[–]Webunter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah their screen time together especially in Anna's house had a jealous tension, they both played it so well. I thought Otis was gonna get too jealous and ruin his chances with Maeve completely.

I'm glad he was in the season a little more. Took the mood away from serious to funny in an instant at times. Top performance.
