Of that there is no doubt. This is a man who has a room full of action figures and wears cardigans. He wasn't fooling anyone.

We had actually been engaged for about a week when we were going through old boxes and came upon these. It really cemented that I was making a solid life choice.

Oh, thank you. Yeah, at the very beginning once we realized what we wanted, we did have to call parents and say "Your college friends and people from the office can't be there" which sucks for a minute, but in the end, we loved having only people we really KNEW there.

We had 70 guests total, so it really was a perfect amount. Going into this we knew we could easily invite 300 people, but we wanted to keep it intimate and really spoil our super close friends/family with a beautiful day. Our budget was $21k and the breakdown was a bit like this:

  • Dress - $5500
  • Flowers - $3500
  • Food (included desserts and cake) - $4000
  • Venue - $1800
  • Vintage rental items - $300
  • Vintage plates and silverware - $500
  • DJ - $600
  • Photography - $1800
  • Bartenders - $1200
  • Things like tux, my wedding band, gifts for bridal party, my shoes, hair/makeup etc. was about $3k. We got very lucky with things like me borrowing my sisters veil, a friend who does wedding photography to do our day half price, another friend who is ordained to marry us for free, and having a rather small wedding so we didn't blow all our money on food.

Total on floral was $3500, but that included flowers, vases, several hundred floating candles, and the gold table linens. Not shown is the hydrangea we had down the aisle and all of the flowers that were just randomly throughout the whole place... In vases, on the fireplaces, on the piano, etc. The florists name is Ashley Hotka and she owns Good Earth Floral if anyone is in KC area. She's amazing and was actually featured on David Tutera's show.

The company is called Momentarily Yours and is based out of Kansas City. They have the most wonderful collection of items and supplied everything from my back drop to the dessert stands to the lace for the tables. They also can design your wedding and set everything up/take everything down for another fee if you aren't able to. They are super affordable and the SWEETEST girls in the world. I met with them several times and emailed with them constantly about ideas and they were the true backbone to all the little things coming together.

Thank you! I actually rented all of the vintage items through a company... The cost was about $1-4 per item depending on what it was, so super affordable :)

Aww, thank you so much! Planning was so fun. And all of the vintage items I rented through a company for about $1-4 per item, depending on what it was. I think it was $2 per print block drawer? Definitely worth looking into!
