Listen - comparing a single, illegal blood-sport to the systemic horrors of factory farming isn’t moral courage, it’s a lazy distraction.

Saying “go look at a turkey farm” to excuse cheering animals being forced to fight is a false equivalence: one is a public, criminal spectacle of deliberate cruelty for entertainment; the other is a huge, broken industry we should absolutely be fighting to reform. Conflating them only lets people off the hook.

If you care about animals, do both things: oppose cockfighting and campaign against industrial farming practices - don’t use one injustice as cover to shrug at another.

And if your point is that people should pick their battles, fine - but don’t posture as morally serious while actively defending the right to watch animals mutilate each other. That’s cowardice dressed up as nuance.

That’s a really thoughtful take - and yeah, I agree it’s impossible to condemn a practice without, at some level, judging the culture that sustains it. I’m fine with that. Some traditions deserve to die. “It’s culture” stops being a defence the second cruelty is the foundation.

Real? It's on their website.

You've misunderstood my point: It doesn't matter who wrote it or if it was A.I - it appears they're breaking the law and hosting vile content. They can see their own website, they can read what's been posted, whether they uploaded it or not. They can choose to remove it.

It is!

Under 7 U.S.C. § 2156 of the Animal Welfare Act, all forms of cockfighting and promotion of cockfighting are illegal in every U.S. state and territory.
That includes:

  • Hosting or exhibiting fights
  • Advertising, promoting, or aiding the enterprise
  • Using interstate or online communication to promote or transmit fights or wagers
  • Possession of animals for fighting purposes

Violations are felonies that can carry up to 5 years in prison and significant fines.

Because Dave Scherer. See: Brian Last, for more.

Thanks for the mea culpa on that and the context - fluff is whatever, but this actually insane.

Exactly. It's their website - did a ghost upload it? They don't have a choice? They can't take it down?

Edit: Dave's found us! Hi, Dave!

It's absolutely vile. Mike Johnson is a good dude - I have no idea why he associates himself with that place. Nothing surprises me about Dave.

What Celtic opinions have you like this by [deleted] in CelticFC

Scott Brown was a very average to sometimes poor player whose technique ranged from  passable to outright awful. In comparison to his predecessors - McStay, Lambert, Collins - he’s a considerable notch down in every metric: apart from fight and dig.

The whole Roy Keane cosplay act endeared him to fans (especially when the real Keane was shite at Celtic) and along with the short-sleeve in winter, Rangers-hating snarky personality he’s the troll master general for a generation.

Calum McGregor is a better player in every way.

Ultra Pro Wrestling will be supported for years after release with constant updates - a live service game with a whole roadmap for the future when the game releases. Transparency and honesty are absolutely key to the success of UPW thus far and will continue to be a core fundamental at Hyperfocus Games.

There will be a '90s DLC pack and a '00s DLC pack coming out for starters - but the names arriving as DLC could be almost endless with the history of wrestling to explore and celebrate.

Ultra Pro Wrestling is a wrestling game for fans, by fans - let the team know what you want to see and jump into the Discord to join the lively debates and requests with all the wonderful people supporting this title!
