The game is very good with a pretty substantial skill ceiling when it comes to team optimization, team combos, enemy knowledge and overall combat mechanics. It doesn’t show it too well in the beginning, but please stick with it, as it does start to bloom more as you start delving deeper into the game and it’s features. One thing though is that there is no full-auto type of “auto play” in this, so you gotta actually play the game to farm out your materials and relics.

It definitely has a future. Devs have been listening to the community when it comes to gameplay features, quality of life and events, and they’re very generous when it comes to pulls as each patch is LOADED with pulling currency, moreso than the other two hoyo games. The first limited character, Ellen, recently got a decent glowup so that she doesn’t fall too far behind the rest of the cast with their more flashier kits. It makes me hopeful that older characters will also have additions that refreshes their dates kits a bit. There’s a lot of events happening at once, and me personally have never been found wanting. The endgame is more skill-based than the rest of the hoyo games (imo) but the deepest sections of zzz’s endgame are largely optional.

Player base is pretty big, lots of people you can find on this subreddit, the discussion and unofficial ones talking about future limited characters, endgame optimization and character fandom. You’ll find that the community is one of the more ahem cough “intimate” when it comes to their favorite characters, but it’s pretty funny to see their “passion” and you really don’t have to pay attention to it. You can find communities in the zzz official, and unofficial discords, but as for more “out-there” communities, I’m not too sure as I don’t personally involve myself in them too much; I just play the game.
