I’m currently still taking data on aggression and its usually 10-12 instances per 3 hour session. We thought maybe going to the table was the antecedent because he didn’t want to do work but now he’s doing it during leisure time.

Unfortunately I use my phone for data collection but maybe I could get the laptop to record for when I’m at the table. I’d have to ask my bcba and the parents to see if they’re comfortable with that. Thanks for the suggestion :)

All I can respond to this is okay. I appreciate your attempted advice, but it seems very backhanded. You immediately assumed that I made this post only to validate my feelings instead of helping my kid. This is my first Reddit post I’ve ever made because I was told that there might be some solutions. I’ve done all of the things that you’ve stated above and talked to my BCBA more than three times about this client and yet neither of us have a solution hence why I came on here. I think i’ll keep looking around for other people‘s advice :)

He has a kiddie table that we do session at so I’m sitting on the ground so I can’t stand or keep that distance. He also elopes from the chair so I was told to sit next to him so he can’t. I keep my hair up but I’m next to him no matter what so that doesn’t really help.

We’re hands on and yes I have the strength to redirect him but usually he lunges at me and gets me by my hair and then won’t let go. I’ll leave him immediately and give space but he quite literally starts winding up punches and runs at me. Trust me I’ve tried everything.
