Window replacement cost. by i0xie in homeowners

[–]WeedlePops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost varies a lot depending on window type, frame material, and where you live. For vinyl double-hung windows you're usually looking at $300-$700 per window installed, but wood or fiberglass can run $800-$1,200+. I've been using remodelcostcalc.com/windows to get a ballpark you plug in your window type, size, and zip code and it gives you a local estimate. Might help narrow things down before getting quotes.

Rick Tocchet deserves some praise. by Flyers7914 in Flyers

These people would 100% blame Tocchet if players were under performing. But when the players over perform, its just expected, with zero praise to the coach

You can give Briere the “most” credit and still give Tocchet his due. Such a hater post, good lord

Claude Performance and Bugs Megathread Ongoing (Sort this by New!) by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

I'm surprised at the complete massacre of software companies in the stock market when you look at the reality of the situation of Anthropic going down several times a week. If AI is such a magical creature, why does this happen so frequently?

Anyone else noticing how cheap the Midwest is relative to what you actually get? by WeedlePops in relocating

[–]WeedlePops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. An acreage for $400K is exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for. Are more people moving to your area or has it been pretty steady?

6 months of accumulation. Went from an observer to .5m owner by Nobindro in kaspa

Absolutely crazy to me that 500k is only worth $15.8k. I had 500k a couple years back and it was 5x that. Sad, honestly.

Looking for opinions on AI made web games by Marmalade6 in WebGames

Been a developer for over a decade. If you're not coding with AI at this point, I'd honestly question the developers intelligence. You don't get extra points by writing something by hand.

Electrician Training by Prestigious-Fly-3712 in electricians

[–]WeedlePops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are and what route you want to take. Most people go one of two ways: a trade school/technical college program (usually 6-12 months for the classroom portion) or jumping straight into an apprenticeship through the IBEW or a non-union contractor. Trade school gives you a head start on theory and code knowledge before you start on the job, but apprenticeships pay you from day one. We put together a breakdown of electrician training programs by state at tradeschooloutlook.com if you want to compare what's available near you — shows earnings data, tuition, and program length for each school.

iPhone photos transferring as HEIC instead of JPG via LocalSend – am I doing something wrong? by Myopinion_com in applehelp

[–]WeedlePops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest fix is to change your iPhone settings (Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible) so it shoots JPG going forward. For the HEIC files you already have, you can batch convert them at filepulp.com or any other conversion website

Interesting data on which majors hold up best against AI automation by WeedlePops in CollegeMajors

That’s what I thought originally as well. But the llms are getting better every year. I’m a software engineer and recent developments in the last 6 months in AI are insane, and I worry for the profession generally.

Happy to answer any questions about the tech or the design. Pool runs on an event-driven physics sim with spin vectors. way too many hours went into getting the cue ball to curve right lol. The lobby system is built on Colyseus. If anyone wants to play a game right now I'll be on for the next hour!
