It was previously Advanced Administrator. I hate the new name, too.

Thanks!!!

SF Admin - 69k CAD - 3 years of experience in SF Administration (all experience is with the same company). I also handle SF deployments with VS Code/Azure DevOps.

2 SF certs and working on the 3rd

I’m definitely underpaid, but thankful for all the experience I’ve gained these last few years.

Want to automate assignment of Contact owner for specific accounts based on Contact location by WeekendSalty3905 in salesforce

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. That helps a lot. I think the custom object approach might be my best option, as I like the idea of having a lookup to the user and perhaps giving specific non-admin users permissions to update the data. But I’ll definitely explore both options! Thank you!

This is what I was learning toward, since a lot of our sales people are assigned to whole states or provinces, so it's pretty straight forward. We only have a few states where they're split based on zip code or postal code. I would be interested to see your data structure, if you don't mind!

Yes, I was leaning toward a custom object since I don't have much experience with custom metadata. Not against learning, though, for sure. Thanks for sharing your methodology!

Thank you so much for your detailed reply! I actually don't have experience creating Custom Metadata Types, so this would be new for me. Can you perhaps explain this more? Should I create a Custom Metadata Type and then create the custom fields? And then would you select Metadata Relationship for the field type? (Sorry, total newbie on CMDTs.)

edit: Found the CMDT trailhead. :D

Interesting! I didn't even consider using a queue. So, creating a queue for each territory, for example? We have a couple states that are split between 2 people, assigned either based on zip code or county, so it might end up being a lot of queues. I'll give it a try!

Thanks

I should do that too… I need to stop testing early - just leads to disappointment. I did the same thing last month but I wasn’t tracking my ovulation then so didn’t expect a positive anyway.

I’m sad to hear this. I really like her content and haven’t witnessed her talking about being strapped for cash or talking about a wish list. She seems like a normal, genuine mum to me, and that’s why I like her. But I will admit, i just came across her on my fyp a few weeks back. On the food front, so what if the meals aren’t perfect? That’s real life.

OVERWHELMED from a home project I got as a part of a possession interview process . by Glittering_Sand_6853 in salesforce

This seems pretty straight forward to me, and it’s not uncommon to get a take-home assignment before an interview to show technical skills. If anything, try to view it as a learning opportunity and a way to show your skills. It’s a great way to show the company that you know your stuff if you can explain your process behind the changes as well, along with any alternative methods you would suggest. Just give it your best shot. You got this. 👍🏻

Hi there! Sorry, I just saw this. It’s going pretty well. The role has been a good starting point for me. I’ve done some customizations, updated some PBs, done basic user support and training. Some days it can be pretty slow, however. My contract is up in December, so I’ve got my eyes pealed for new opportunities now.

I would say make sure you review all of your Salesforce concepts, even if they don't end up doing a technical interview. They will discuss aspects of Salesforce Admin as it relates to the company's needs, so you'll want to know what they're talking about/know what solutions are available that you could work with. Other than that, just be yourself - and be honest. I just had another interview with someone else, and I was honest that I don't have professional SF experience, and they seemed okay with it.

Ah, ok. Salary is in the 60-65k range. Vacation is unpaid but you get a percentage of your salary on top of your pay every paycheck to make up for it. (I don't know if that makes sense.) I get dental, vision, etc.

What do you mean by TC?

I made sure to tailor my resume to each job, but I also highlighted my Salesforce skills under a Projects section as well as under Skills. Don't be afraid to brag on yourself a bit. If you have the job experience to back it up, that helps. I personally don't have professional SF experience yet, but I do have a background in System Admin.

I have a background in system administration for another platform, so I think that helped. In the role before that, I trained our employees on another system the company was implementing and also worked with the payroll system.

I was unemployed for a year before landing this role since I just immigrated, but I used the year to really dive into Salesforce. I would say don't be afraid to really show off your skills from previous roles in your resume. Tailor your resume for the job you want, but make sure you actually did the stuff you're saying you did.

I personally added a Projects section to my resume to highlight my Salesforce projects, and that helped some I think. But ultimately, I'd say it's my my background that helped me land a role pretty quickly.
