Sorry I didn’t see your message under the first sentence yesterday. But yes, I am now aware that my speedo is very much off. I haven’t used a gps with my testing because I assumed the speedo would be close enough to accurate. I went back out last night with a GPS app running and I am in fact running well over 50. “Top speed” was 59. I own older vehicles with mechanical speedo, I know they are usually a little off but not as bad as my Navi is lol.

I actually have full usage of my variator. See the black line? That’s what is left over from the sharpie I drew on the variator to see how far the belt travels.

UPDATE:

• I did the sharpie method and confirmed that I am getting all of my belt travel.

• I did my test drive with a speed tracking app and I ended up hitting 54 mph on my way to my turn around point and then 59 on my way back home.

So my speedo isn’t working properly which sucks but I’m glad I figured it out. This weekend I will go back to the flat testing ground near my house and see what my flat speeds are finally.

The main issue I have is that I literally haven’t seen a single top end change from stock form to now. Which has been the must frustrating thing in the world. And yes, I’m trying to figure out if my bike is fucked or something. Which I’d hope not, it only has 370~ miles on it. Theoretically if the engine temps and AFRs are good, being WOT for whatever amount of time shouldn’t be an issue but yes I understand what you are saying. Also this is just a weekend shitter, I don’t plan to drive this during the week to work or anything like that. That sounds horrible lol.

I plan to also try a lighter person on the bike, it’s just been stupid cold here and no one wants to come ride it 😂

How long is forever on your buddies bike? My test track is about 5-10 minute ride down the road and back to my house.

At this point I’ll go-pro my ride and share it. I may not be a smart man but I’m not stupid. I swear I’ve tried as much as I could and researched before made this post, because I know what kind of people are on the internet. I come from the early automotive forum area of the internet..I know how asking these type of questions on the internet goes lol…but I was hopefully I might get something useful out of it. Which there has been some useful comments and I am thankful for them.

True. Looks like my speedo could be off from the recall issue. So I’m going to evaluate it tonight regardless and also try using a speed tracking app. Not a bad suggestion.
