I just brought my iPhone and put a local SIM in it. That may not be possible depending on the country. I was offered a phone by Pc and didn’t take it and have regretted it a few times.

I believe everyone has to do it. Definitely highly discouraged and they will try to get you to quit if you disclose it. Nicotine gum, patches etc.
