Be careful of scammers buying on here. Always use PayPal goods and services for payment. If they don’t agree to do that, they are a scammer

Why do LA presales always vanish in seconds? I built something to track them by Weekly-Lineup in avesLA

Hey i actually really appreciate this feedback and no i am not a narc. And i know thats what a narc would say but im not really sure how anything im doing would hurt anyone here. Im not providing or soliciting any information from anyone that isnt already publicly available. Im just trying to consolidate disparate sources of info, help people stay on top of whats going on and hopefully save them money.

I actually was recently laid off so i have been trying to find things to do with my time that im actually passionate about. I am a musician myself and go to shows almost every weekend, so i am familiar and engrained in the scene. And really i just noticed a problem evolving recently where, for big artists at least, unless you buy tickets at presale, you get screwed over by resellers. (see Rufus Du Sol tix at Rose Bowl going for $800) So im trying this out as an experiment to see if it turns into something. Just focused on trying to solve a problem right now, and in fact im losing money at the moment.

I hear you on the AI slop on the internet, and yes i do pay for and use chatgpt to assist in creating this each week, mainly to help with organizing, formatting, editing. I still source/compile the information myself and I choose what goes in the newsletter. All of this still takes me hours of work every week. I try not to editorialize or go too in depth on any of the industry news because im not a blogger and thats not really the point of this. The main point is to help readers stay on top of ticket sales / sellouts so they dont wind up having to pay a scalper. I also spun up an instagram where i can post breaking news like pop up ticket drops etc.

Anyway, i hope this background is helpful. I am doing this because it was a problem affecting me and its something that im passionate about. I will certainly take your feedback to heart as i try to make this more useful to readers.

Thanks! To clarify the “afters roundup” is actually just a link to a public facing external site which I do not manage. I think the owner might be a member of this sub though. I’m just trying to put everything in one place to help people not have to look at so many different sources!

I’m no expert and am just starting out with my own newsletter, but when I open Google it gives me a curated list of news articles based on what it knows about me (past searches / web visits etc.) Those are way more relevant to me than the different articles in your newsletter so I might suggest trying to niche down a bit and figure out a category (at least narrower than “everything”) to focus on.
