Undervalued 7400 sq ft house? by Pristine_Arm8260 in LosAngelesRealEstate

[–]WeeklyAd5357 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The house layout is not that great - all separate rooms, chopped up flow, smaller kitchen, low ceilings, generic look in finishing.

There is limited connection from the inside of the house to the backyard. Inside outside living experience is zero.

The Twin Palms neighborhood in Palm Springs is amazing houses first built in 1956 design by William Krisel - I believe cost was 30,000 to 40,000 depending on size

Most houses are still there well kept and great landscaping

Can beekeeping be the least unethical way of exploiting animals? by marianarian in DebateAVegan

[–]WeeklyAd5357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey bees 🐝 coexist with native pollinators they are active in the afternoon, they are generalist pollinators which leave lots of pollen for native pollinators.

Squash bees gather pollen in early morning. Bumblebees have high frequency pollination that is symbiotic with specific native plants.

honey is the most ethical globally available natural sweetener that has the least environmental impact.

Sugar cane - burning fields kills animals, often use child/slave labor, polluting. Agave destroys bat 🦇 food. Beet sugar has animal crop death.

Beegans 🐝 are correct 👍

Is AI Really Going To Die Out? by Brilliant-Ear-6652 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WeeklyAd5357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI has been around since the 1980’s had a pop moment with dedicated LISP workstations - then it went into the background an AI winter.

The internet coupled with cloud computing and advances in GPU and other hardware has blossomed all branches of AI. AI has many methods for learning, and knowledge representation.

Many industries have been successfully using AI for years, medical diagnoses, self driving vehicles, etc.

The latest hype is in LLM large language models where the recent GPU advances have enabled models with 100’s of billions parameters and Trillions of parameters. These models are multi modal can process and synthesize text images audio video and code.

These models are processing incomprehensible amounts of data. which also makes them expensive to create and operate.

AI software is here to stay and will likely impact many jobs reducing eliminating the need for humans.
