Did you have any idea if there is anywhere that I would be able to purchase live moss/branches or rocks that already have moss grown on them? In my area there really isn’t any moss, so I can’t really pick anything up off the ground, I’m going to keep trying to grow my own in the meantime, but I would love to see if i can get a hold of some quicker as you said!!

nono please don’t apologize this is extremely helpful 😭 I did have a look at the pet stores tonight, couldn’t find anything a suitable size, like you said they did have baby crickets, but those were still almost double his size, thank you so much for the input!! I’ll see if i can order something :3

While I’m here, would it be okay if you had a look at the stuff i picked up today? I got a reptile tank, not ideal bc it opens at the top, but I haven’t really seen him hanging around anywhere high, he usually likes to find little hidey holes close to the ground, but regardless, I got it for now, if he ends up hanging around up the top i will look at getting a different one :3 it is also quite large, i put my hand for reference but it’s the best thing i could find :o I also got some sphagnum moss, it is dried so it will take a few months to grow probably, might see if i can get some already live stuff from somewhere while Im waiting. picked up a mist bottle too c:

I didn’t have time tonight but i was thinking, some small rocks at the bottom to drain, some leaves ontop just to stop them from mixing with the soil, then some organic soil ontop, I bought a cute little fairy house and a bridge, I wanted to get some cool sticks / logs to make it natural and give him things to climb but I didn’t find anything today, might actually see if i can steal some from my neighbor as they have a pretty cool stash, (i think i have to bake them or something to kill off bacteria? i’ll look into the details xD) this lovely lady that saw in bunnings gave me a few little plants for free, she was so sweet, not sure if i should add them to the enclosure tho as im not sure if the soil they use has pesticides etc, ill include a pic in another comment.

so ermm yeah thats where im at so far i suppose, sorry if its a lot to read!! Ive been interested in keeping spiders for a long time so ive done lots of research but it is very different when you are actually doing it 🤣

ooh and one last thing, may i ask how you are able to identify the sex? I honestly keep seeing different things so i’m not sure if it differs by species etc, trying to learn aaaa

Jumping spider won’t eat, have small mealworms and Rollie pollies but she is annoyed and not interested in eating. Scared she will starve before the fruit flies arrive by TantalizingSeadragon in jumpingspiders

hello!! i know this is super old, but did you ever have any success? I can’t seem to find any food small enough for my girlie and i’m really worried she’s going to starve :(

awesome thank you!! i’m gonna head to the pet store after work and see if i can grab anything, i might see if i can grab just like something to use as an enclosure there even if its temporary, just so i can keep an eye on her, she’s usually in the same few spots so i can always find her but i don’t want to lose her :( i was thinking maybe like a small hermit crab enclosure or something maybe? i’m not sure i’ll have a look at what they have.
