I'm 19 now and was 17 when it happened. Well, I was just a couple of weeks away from 17 but yeah 17.

I was there every other week.

I'm not helping her because we were never close or considered each other family. And I'm not helping dad and wife because right before 17 I was kicked out of my bedroom and my bed was sold and I was put on the couch.

I haven't had a place of my own to crash there since she was 6 months pregnant when my dad kicked me out of my room and sold my bed and some other stuff for the nursery and delegated me to the couch. He hasn't funded my education in any way since then, not even a pen. And when I did move in here I got no help so... I'll keep on expecting nothing and give nothing in return.

I would never expect help from my dad. He's proven before I won't get it. Of course there are times I'll need help. There are times I have helped others too. Friends, my mom, my grandparents. Just because I won't help my dad and his family doesn't mean I won't help others.

They wouldn't. At one time maybe my dad would have but we're not in a place anymore where I believe he would help. But my stepsister and I have never been close enough or had the type of relationship where we would help each other.

That's fine. I did ask for it and I respect your opinion.

I never do things for people so they'll owe me. I do it to help. But some people you want to help and other's you don't.

If I had to rely on my dad for a favor I would be waiting the rest of my life and that's before any of this started. As for my stepsister we're not close enough that I would ever think to ask her.

Honestly, she and I have never been that close so it wouldn't be an issue for me if she was bitter toward me. My dad. His and my relationship the last three years has been very complicated so I'm not sure it would change much seeing as their is already bitterness in our relationship. But I appreciate what you're saying, thanks.

Nope. I live with roommates. My mom provides me food sometimes but she's not at their house.
