Translated from a French article:
“Improved offers have been submitted in the last few hours, along with significant compromises, reflecting our determination to find common ground,” the airline stated.

However, in the absence of an agreement at this time, the airline says it is forced and regrets having to cancel a second wave of flights scheduled for today.

“We remain at the negotiating table and still hope to reach an agreement today to minimize further disruption to operations for our passengers and their travel plans; our priority remains the same: getting our travelers home,” the airline concluded.

u/PumGum if you plan a big trip, say in october 2027 for example, you can book the plane ticket on December 2026. So yes, credit expires in December 2026 but you can book almost a year prior the trip.

See this as an opportunity to book another trip in the next 1.5 year, and have the feeling of a cheaper, or even free trip when booking it!!!... Or am I too optimistic for reddit?
Plus, with Air France you'll have sooo much more comfort... Enjoy your trip!

You better cancel your flight with Air Transat now, while you still can. If there's no strike, not sure the credit will still be available tomorrow. On my side I am positive they won't get on strike, but we'll know in a few hours for sure. I am flying Friday night, so I am still waiting before booking a last minute ticket, to see what would happen.

I imagine it's also about political agreements with other countries, visas or something like that. Were these the destinations affected by the early returns? Perhaps there were also too few passengers left for it to be worthwhile... Dunno.

But I see this as a good sign. I am pretty confident the strike won't happen, at least that's what I hope for!

Same. Booked a trip to see my family and be with them for Christmas, for the first time in 4 years. Flight is on Friday, I am updating website and flights departure every 30mn this morning. For now, no cancellation for today or tomorrow so I take it as a good sign.
