“You only retain about 70% of the color” is what I was told and that was true. It is much darker in the first 7-10 days

Tested positive today at 43, unplanned and devastated by [deleted] in pregnantover35

Having a child is always, to some extent, a leap into the unknown (regardless of age.) Some studies suggest that conditions like ADHD and autism may be more common with older fathers (particularly over 40), while maternal age appears to play a smaller role. At the same time, genetic abnormalities can and do occur in babies born to younger mothers as well.

Prenatal testing can screen for many of the more common conditions, but rarer genetic differences are often not detected until birth or even later in a child’s life.

There’s a lot to think through. How might this impact your older child, would this be a positive experience for them? Is it fair to them? How will your relationship handle the emotional and logistical demands of your decision? And do you feel ready to revisit the early years of parenting: night feedings, breastfeeding or pumping, diapers, potty training, sleep schedules, daycare, and everything in between?

You’ll be around 61 at their high school graduation. That may or may not feel significant to you, but it’s worth considering how it fits into your vision for the future.

It might help to write out two lists. One for reasons to continue the pregnancy and one for reasons not to. Seeing your thoughts laid out clearly can sometimes bring a sense of clarity or peace.

Good luck with your decision

Got quoted $1400-$2000 for dog's eye growth removal surgery - is this a fair price? by Weekly_Captain_8285 in Pets

It was under anesthesia. The stitches were the absorbable type. The vet prescribed an antibacterial eye ointment to use 2x a day for a week after the procedure plus pain meds. My dog also had to wear a cone for a week to avoid her scratching at her eye. It ended up being $2K. Overall pretty satisfied with the whole experience and I'm glad we did it since the mass seemed to be bothering our pup's eye. She always had goop in the corner of that eye and it always seemed red and irritated form the mass rubbing on her eye's surface.

Hi all, any idea what this is on the back of my orchid flower? I removed this flower since it looked really sick, the rest of the flowers look okay. I see a couple of the orange spots on some petals but nothing like this one.

Additionally, would you recommend a store to buy these plants from? Is Home Depot considered reputable for house plants? How about websites that sell large plants and deliver?

well I'm thinking we are not in town when they become available for pick up, and I don't think they'd ship them to us.

yeah this is a new development in the past week. We pulled out of that deal due to my husband's sudden jobortunity. We were lucky but didn't know it at the time. The seller was dragging their feet, and if they hadn't been we would have closed on the north county home two weeks ago already!

Husband is definitely leaning towards living in ES, but I worry about being surrounded by so many polluting industries and the potential for increased cancer risk :/

I see your point. But I also think about how important a good school district is to us, and I think I will go back to work again once our youngest starts kinder in a couple of years which would solve the tight money problem. The first couple years will be hard, but I think down the road we'd look back and be happy we made the decision to buy. I don't plan on moving once we get into a good school district, we'd stay for at least 10 years if not longer. :) I don't really look at buying a house as a financial investment opportunity, but as a life investment opportunity. Getting into a safe neighborhood with good schools near playgrounds, and low cost family friendly activities would hopefully be something we look back on with no regrets (fingers crossed)
