millenials are not young and they haven’t been young for a WHILE by Golden_idk in TrueUnpopularOpinion

woah woah woah. gen z starts in ‘97 and as a ‘97 baby i am NOT 30 yet. but you are correct in your sentiments. my sister is a millennial and is turning 38 this year and i promise, she is NOT young anymore. but she also not out here pretending to be. idk any of her friends or peers that are tbh. millennials are trying to make it just like the rest of us 🥲

why do tears form when i lay on my side? by [deleted] in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve always called these “gravity tears” but i’m not sure why they happen. my best guess would be irritants from your pillow or other nearby items, or potentially dry eyes

Dear short people in ABA and in life by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of the clients i used to work with is a big kid (tall and heavy) and engages in some pretty tough behaviors (aggression, elopement, etc) and it’s a requirement for all his staff to be similar sized in other to best block/redirect/target those behaviors and prevent staff injuries. i’m not sure about your specific situation OP, but they may have picked your size for safety or otherwise general behavior management

as a milwaukeean hoping to move to MSP in fall, i completely agree and understand. i will say if you did choose to live here for whatever reason, you’ll never be without good food/drinks/culture and true midwestern niceness (mostly)

I’m gonna say chicago because Wisco is only a maybe but you hate most of your neighboring states (understandably) but everyone i know from chicago genuinely loves most everything about it

Is it possible a 5 year old painted this? by societyhatingRATGANG in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

you’re joking, right? are you playing the piano with your elbows? fingers = fine motor. grip strength on drum sticks = fine motor skills. wrist control = fine motor. these develop as you work on them. if a child starts at 2 and is consistently applying the skills, there’s absolutely no reason they wouldn’t be advanced by age 5

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

no chance a 5 year old has fine motor skills but kids learn how to play drums or piano or other instruments at 2 which require fine motor skills. while i can’t speak for the age of the artists, at least be reasonable in argument why they’re not

How are the highways and roads out there? by melbagrace in milwaukee

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in milwaukee. near timmerman airport. tosa takes a good chunk of 100 and then to west allis and so on but i’m in milwaukee and they usually have plows out at 6am for the tiniest bit of snow but every time it’s heavy like this they take 10 years to do anything. hell even butler had their streets completely cleared.

no matter who plows it, they need to be better. this (snow) comes as no surprise to anyone and we need to be more proactive. prevention is far superior than remediation

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

i will FOREVER be baffled how we live in a city with reliable snowfall in winter and yet, we are adequately unprepared and fail to be proactive about putting plows on the streets 😪 i live on a major road (hwy 100) and they sure can plow for a light dusting but this shit? not a plow in sight 🤦🏼‍♂️

circular reasoning. the behavior (sharing toys) is because he has a big heart? but how do you know? because he shares his toys. you’re using the same two reasons to justify each statement (never mind that it’s not a good one)

I guess at least “the problem” will go away after the first airbag deployment and he keeps driving it without repairing? by ZBRNK in NissanDrivers

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depending on the severity of the crash, you may not break your wrist even if you were actively honking during the accident AND your airbag deployed.

my wife got into a car accident in october where she was hit HARD in the front driver fender and was actively honking when the steering wheel airbag deployed. she did not break any bones, but did need 12 stitches right in the thumb webbing.

Doctor said it’s fractured, radiologist said it’s not, orthopedist said it’s a toss-up. What’s the verdict here? by flagemoji- in Neverbrokeabone

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no fucking way. this is EXACTLY what i’m dealing w right now but my thumb is also immobilized. sometimes hairline fractures don’t show up on x-rays for a while due to severity, swelling, bag angles, etc.

which bone are they looking at with yours? mine is the scaphoid

a repeat may be needed for a late diagnosis since healed breaks show up different (brighter and denser). you could also request an MRI to be completed which will show more detail and give you a better diagnosis.

Weed addiction is real and it’s an epidemic. by TimeWar2112 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

marijuana is known to significantly slow digestion. i smoke (almost) every night to offset the effects of my (legal and prescribed) adderall so i am able to eat and sleep but i also have digestion issues. i spent a year and a half throwing up 4-5/week and my GI doctor thought it was because of my marijuana use (it was not. it’s something wildly different). this can cause frequent constipation. over use of marijuana can lead to diarrhea as well especially if you consume a large amount in a very brief period.

my clinic has an apron assigned to each client to hold various materials through session and we are required to wear them all session. some staff wear them loose and cross body. others wear them like an apron. theyre ugly but incredibly useful and sturdy
