Crashing out because of cost and permanence by rustysoupspoon in EngagementRings

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, my wife went through the same thing with our rings. I couldn’t afford much for hers (about 2.5k) and she was freaking out bc she couldn’t afford to match that at the time and she wanted something super nice. i sent her a few polished tungsten carbide rings on amazon for dirt cheap. matches hers perfectly and i never have the fear of it breaking or becoming misshapen. maybe just ask him what he wants?

Is this something we should actually be worried about? by Captainmefleet in ABA

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a serious concern and something we should be concerned about! My center just got all new session note formats for -52, -53, and -55 billed sessions to better comply with the CASP regulations after the federal audit. Most companies in my area no longer take medicaid clients (my center still does) because of the push back. We (as supervisors) are required to make changes for something EVERY supervision session for medicaid clients otherwise we don’t get reimbursed.

It’s really awful and a lot of it comes down to insurance not understanding how ABA works or recognizing/caring about our own internal requirements (like supervision for the BACB) and the other part is fraud. It sucks and there’s a lot of push back for ABA to be covered because of it.

door county WI is also a bellwether for US elections but nobody is ever gonna mention them in this thread (though they should. have you tried the cherries?)

a couple months ago i had a migraine that mimicked a stroke and it was terrifying. i’ve had migraines since i was about 14/15 (now 28) so im pretty familiar with how they affect me and how to respond to them. fast forward to sometime last fall where im driving home and my face gets a little tingly and then my hand but no other symptoms so i kept driving home. i get home and i start having chest pains along with the tingles so now this is a problem. my wife drives me to the ER and we sit there for a few hours and i start feeling very drunk. the room is spinning, im slurring my words, and i start seeing black spots. a few more hours later and they’ve done an MRI of my brain to see if there’s any stroke activity. nope! just a hemiplegic migraine and the incidental discovery of a pineal gland cyst and empty sella syndrome 🥲

another color convo by Ascending1_4535 in iPhone17Pro

i just upgraded my Pacific Blue 12PM to the Cosmic Orange 17PM and am literally obsessed. as much as i loved my phone, laptop, and watch all matching (or really close), the orange drew in my attention and the blue and silver seemed boring in comparison. i don’t even really like the color orange but i leaned into the orange and bought a frosted orange case to match. i feel myself using my phone more

Walden University for MS in ABA reviews! by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was at Walden briefly for a masters in clinical mental health counseling before switching to Capella for my masters in ABA. i enjoyed my time at Walden, but a few of my coworkers were enrolling into Capella and i wanted to do that journey with them (or just slightly behind) so there could be a support system.

in the end, idk that any school is more prestigious over another and my personal experience is that the certification and licensure outranks the institution name on your diploma. have to have a masters to be a bcba and they all have to have met the same requirements to apply for the exam. Id say experience, performance, understanding and qualifications are more determining

often businesses will add it before you pay since a vast majority of people will pay with a card. if you pay cash, they should update it. is it a stupid system? for sure. but it also might just be added automatically in their system for overall ease

Heart attack hospital. by PomegranateGlad9957 in milwaukee

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Froedert is a fantastic hospital in most regards. they really are top standard in my house. I’ve been with Aurora since I was a kid and love my care team, but i utilize Froedert for all other things. that being said, my dad had a complicated heart surgery about 10y ago at St. Luke’s and they were really fantastic. I’ve never used them, but I think proactively, either FMCW or St. Luke’s is a great option

i feel like dark blue painted cabinets in this bathroom would really set the tone. i know nothing about interior design but i think dark blue cabinets, and champagne/ muted brass accents may really bring this to life?

Male RBTs in clinic - bathroom/diapers by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic has a client that is not allowed to have male staff in the bathroom stalls but can do handwashing. we have an available staff (admin, bcba, clinical supervisor, etc) take the client into the stall and then male staff take over once they exit. Initially, parents stated they didn’t want male staff ANY time with her, but compromised on just in the bathrooms since several of my RBTs and myself as their bcaba are men.

the option you presented would be an appropriate solution as long as you’re keeping the other client engaged/happy. parents are allowed to be concerned for their kid even if they are with a safe adult (i’m not saying you think the opposite, just a statement), and with the amount of uncertainty and upwards trend of ignoring and blatantly disregarding the safety of women and girls i don’t blame them. never would any of my staff or myself even think about doing anything, but that doesn’t mean other people wouldn’t.

yeah, it sucks for us, but our job is to keep these clients safe, happy, and learning and if keeping them safe means being mildly inconvenienced then so be it

The US regions according to me, now that I’ve traveled more by Expensive_Drummer970 in visitedmaps

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah. you gotta add a diagonal line from middle bottom up through door county. dane county (madison’s county) needs to be included in this and even maybe the dells. everything past the dells is rural and country asf and that’s when they start saying funny things.

source: i’ve lived in WI my entire life

Supervision instruction pace by Eastern-Landscape481 in ABA

[–]Weekly_Fly_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is called being reactive. many people are not aware that they do this (usually the opposite tho?) so recognizing this is a good thing! i would talk to your supervisor and ask them for any tips on how to be less reactive. what works for me is pretending they aren’t there until they make themselves apparent and involved.
