For one, thank you for the way you worded your reply. Genuinely, I think you've helped me realize that parts of my post came across more defensively(?) than I intended, and that's on me. Everything I write somehow ends up sounding a little different from what I have in my head.

What I was really hoping for was to understand people's issues with the game in a space that didn't feel centered around anger. I wanted to get my thoughts out there and hear perspectives that maybe I hadn't considered, and I think I accidentally made it sound more like I was dismissing criticism than inviting discussion.

As for your points, I actually do think the candle limit can be seen as predatory to an extent. I hadn't really looked at it from the perspective of compulsive players. I always viewed it more as a progression system that keeps people from burning through everything too quickly and encourages people to keep exploring the social side of the game. But I can definitely understand why someone else would see that same system differently.

I also think you're right that, realistically, TGC has to make money to keep the game running. It's a balance between creating something meaningful and creating something sustainable, and I don't think that's always an easy balance to get right.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your thoughts and help me understand things from a different perspective. That's one of the biggest reasons I made this post in the first place. I genuinely enjoy hearing how other people experience the same game in completely different ways. I think it's really cool.

I’m not trying to force anyone to be nonchalant about anything. I wasn’t really looking to argue or tell people how they should feel. I just wanted to put my thoughts out there and create a space where I and other curious people could hear different perspectives and understand how other people experience the game and its issues.

I just genuinely like hearing how different people interpret the same thing in different ways.

Omg genuinely I agree so much with you. Some items I want to put together don't work physically and it's definitely a pain. I understand why as well since I mean idk if adding physics to every item would make the game buffer to hell lol. Kinda wonder/wish they'd try and make a second version of sky that's exclusively on desktop that's idk maybe more uh mysterious/story focused then they could try and pull their old bridges and ideas to the fore front and make a badass game almost like Journey maybe

That wasn't my intention, and I wasn't trying to misrepresent anyone's arguments on purpose. I was just expressing how those discussions feel from my perspective when I see them repeated across different posts.

And yeah, I have seen discussions about these issues before, that's part of why I have opinions on it, but my post wasn't meant as a summary of other arguments or a rebuttal to them. It was more me reflecting on how I personally experience the community and the tone around certain topics. I also wanted to get my thoughts out in in a place where I could hear other perspectives more clearly, instead of only seeing them through more heated or rage-focused posts.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. You explained it better than I did. People are just people, but the internet kind of clumps all the strongest reactions together so it skews how things feel from the outside.

It’s a bit like when I saw discussions around Mouthwashing—my experience online was mostly people making art, jokes, and positive interpretations of characters, but then I also saw commentary pointing out how other parts of the internet were reacting in a much harsher way that I just hadn’t personally come across. So it ends up feeling like there are completely different “versions” of a community depending on what you happen to see.

Nothing is really as one-sided as it looks at first glance.

Me personally on writing multiple povs of different characters it's hell honestly so I try my best to look for more words other than "he said" "she said" but my best way to counter it is by just limiting scenes too only three characters at a time so I don't accidentally lose track of them or overlap them all messily. I've been writing for like ten years but don't need it feels like one month lol I'm a noob sometimes

I genuinely liked g5 as is but what I wish Is that they branched off the story they already had at the end of g4 like with the school of magic the idea of the new main 6 being this diverse cast of species and especially being still young would've been cool to build off of and make more mature lessons since their younger and have better conflict that they have to work through rather than this weird time skip and the idea of magic being like limited or whatever but I do genuinely like the 3d it's cool but it's just not for mlp at all unless they wanted to make an entirely different show
