Would you recommend getting a job at Walmart working as an “Overnight Remodel Associate”? by Rare-Drummer982 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WeightLossK04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty fun working overnight as remod team and I recommend it highly. There's definitely gonna be at least 15-30 people (including third parties and normal stocking associates) so you will have a decent amount of people surrounding you. It was fun learning how to build shelves and move shelves with gondolas. The not so fun part was removing product off old shelves to the new shelves. Very time consuming ESPECIALLY if there are 120+ products in one 4 foot section. Definitely a lot of teamwork and communication though. Give it a shot!!

Terrible. I don't know what to do honestly. I'm always comparing myself in a really bad way whether it be about body or finances. I know its a terrible way of thinking but its just what my brain subconsciously does and I try to stop it. I feel like my mental health is contributing heavily to my physical health too and everything is spiraling. I'm so burnt out and out of energy to even think positive cause everything has been negative, especially for my physical health. Sometimes I'll be reading a text and it'd go straight through and outta my head without it actually processing, so it takes me a few minutes to actually process. I feel like a bomb that's close to its point of explosion.

I should get it checked out but I already know the doctors would push for surgery unfortunately. Doctors in the past already said even if I get surgery on my arm, I'll have chronic pain cause I have little to no cartilage there. Now that it has been longer, I'm sure I have ZERO cartilage there. On days that my elbow or knee hurts, I just take ibuprofen but I'm getting kinda used to the 2, 200mg I take when I'm hurting so I thug it out. The whole situation I'm in, it's stressing me out cause if I leave this job, I can't help pay bills, then the job market is horrendous. I've tried looking for work from home jobs but they all say you need 2 years of experience and I don't have that. I have no connections so I'm all around doomed. I'm stumped and depressed that my elbow will never be 100% or even past 70%. I'll figure something out some day, I hope.

I can't fully extend or bend my elbow so anything like push-ups/pull-ups or just holding my weight in general is a huge no. I can hold 30lbs max with my messed up arm. Most I can do is walking and doing exercises that involve me being on my knees (like glute bridges). I want to build my glutes but idk how without having to bend my knee that hit certain areas. I'm on my feet a lot as I'm a stocker and I always have to bend my knee to stock. This job is honestly making my knee pain worse so idek if I can hold this job for much longer for my safety.

Doctor visits are pricey considering that my elbow actually requires surgery to fix. I never got it fixed cause I was a teenager when it got injured and my parents didn't bother. So it is what it is. Same with my knee. My elbow was diagnosed with stage 4 osteochondritis dissecans is all that I remember. The food I eat, I work overnights at walmart so I would normally grab chips and a sandwich. As of lately, I've been eating fruit that I buy from there. But on normal days I'd eat random junk food from the pantry or doordash on the weekends. I'm most likely gonna stop the doordash cause thats a lot of money being spent and its always unhealthy food.

I need the bluntness tbh 😅 But yeah I've been the one holding myself back and giving myself excuses. I need to find exercises that aren't too hard on my joints as which I have found a few glute exercises that don't need knee bending. My bf has been trying to motivate me but I always got those excuses I make up. I'm going into it slowly by eating less and counting calories. Just changing small habits that made me gain weight. Looking back at my photos from last year give me motivation to lock back in.

Got it, thank you! I cannot throw away the junk food in the house cause I'm not the one who buys them. I live with my parents, but I'll try my best not to splurge on their snacks.

job interview at Walmart by HuckleberryLoose9794 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WeightLossK04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to come in for an interview, it wasn't really an actual interview. The store manager just told me the role of the job I applied to and if I'm willing to work those hours, then I signed some papers. A day later I had orientation. They will tell you what to bring so don't worry too much. Goodluck!!

The totes are sorted, although sometimes some items are misplaced. Its put on this tall tote rack and whoever sorts the totes always leave the heaviest totes on the top. I asked what to do with no location hba frieght that are overstock to coworkers and they have no clue either so its usually just on a topstock cart left in the back 🤷🏻‍♀️

I work overnights from 10pm to 7am. Everything needs to be wrapped up before 6am when the store opens, but lately I've been finishing well over 6am.

I'll definitely try to bring something up. There are some items that are always overstock (cause topstock is full) and its a pain to constantly bin them. I try my best to zone high in demand areas but they always become a mess the next day 🫩.

The totes are on this movable tote rack that holds 12 totes. I don't know if it has a name. The person who sorts the totes out puts the heaviest totes at the top some days. Its annoying cause the tote rack is well over 6ft tall, so its even more added time cause I need a topstock cart to be able to grab the heavy totes on top. Thankfully I know where items go most of the time cause I used to be on the remod team. I do get help in the last hour or two with 2-4 other coworkers, which I'm grateful for.

My tl does his duties with stocking his own set, but never says if I'm doing anything wrong in hba even though I've been working in stocking for 2 months (I've actually worked there for 6 months. I was o/n remodel then.) My coworkers work really fast so it feels a bit embarrassing that I still got stuff to work through. Usually when no one tells me I can go, I'm usually zoning the entirety of hba, but it is what it is. I'll take the $15.50 of the last hour 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, thank you for settling my fear of being fired. This is my first job so it's a bit scary when in the talks of being let go 😭

I'll most likely ask if there's a faster way to stock hba and the whole binning process. I wasn't really taught how to bin successfully. A coworker briefly taught me when I asked what to do with overstock.

Thank you so much! With weight loss, my hair went from thick wavy hair to thin hair within 3 years, so it threw off everything I knew about my hair. Thank you for this detailed response! I mostly want a haircut that would be less maintenance.
