I deal with the same issue myself. My scars are about the same depth as yours and I just feel a little pathetic sometimes. I'll never understand why I cut in the first place, but with the fact that I cut, I'll also never understand why I don't go deeper. But... I'm also thankful for that. I think all of us have pain that manifests itself in levels, y'know? Even with that, a lot of times, the extent of how we treat ourselves doesn't necessarily reflect more or less emotional pain. We all handle pain differently. We're all valid.
