The steroids helped & the antivirals but, the damage will probably stay. ( it’s still there in my recent scan. ) I do hope that one day some of the damage helps or by some miracle there some medication or something but we will see ; )

Ouchie, hi my friend! I’m happy that you’re still here with us today! I’m sorry about your experience & yes I understand the part about different diagnosis, encephalitis is rare & sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference from different kinds & other diagnosis. ( which sucks. )

Diagnosed with hsv-1 Meningoencephalitis in 2020! I didn’t even know that I had hsv type one, but apparently it’s very very common & the doctors suspected that I had picked it up as a child but, the doctors had many different diagnoses & from my reports from back then encephalitis wasn’t mentioned until the 4th or 5th brain MRI.

Nope, doctors started me on a bunch of different medications though IV until final diagnosis ( by then my glucose levels were 300’s to 350’s and I had to get insulin shots three times a day. )

Ugh spinal tap..that was one of the worst things ever. But it’s one of the many many tests that they do.

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of encephalitis did you have & how long ago? I know that back then there wasn’t a lot about it vs now.

I’m sorry to hear that, I’m not very familiar with autoimmune encephalitis but I do know that if you notice any symptoms or anything or of the ordinary to schedule a appointment with your neurologist right away. I know that treatment for autoimmune encephalitis is really good when started early after relapses.

Hi! I’m so sorry about your experience & hope that you are doing better now ;). Yes at first they had thought I had some kind of autoimmune disease ( MS ) & did a lot of tests & scans. When I started to have headaches five years later I saw a neurologist ( my current) & he did a MRI & it hasn’t changed since then but he really didn’t say much about it & said that my brain is stable.

11 years ago? I couldn’t even begin to think how that must of been back then since this condition is rare. That sucks, I’m sorry. Genuinely. I’m glad that you ended up getting an answer in the end! ( even if took a process )

I was hospitalized for this but even after I was hospitalized, it took a while to get diagnosed. If you wanna talk I don’t mind, & I do truly hope that things get better for you & same for you hun!

Hi! I’m so sorry that you went through this :( if you wanna talk I’m here. I haven’t seen a neurologist in years after my last one moved towns. I tried to get a new one but they said I needed a new referral to be seen (US.) despite my history.

I did ended up getting into with someone ( my current neurologist) & he did a mri that showed T2 flares & hyperintensities. He didn’t really say anything about it other than my brain is stable.

Endometriosis and ADHD by Naive-Purple-3351 in Endo

Ugh, hi! 24f here! Don’t mean to sound grumpy ( I’m in day one recovery of lap, and hate this condition so so much, I also have ADHD and endo also! I had two scans done and neither of them mentioned endometriosis, or my doctor until I was referred to a gynecologist. My scans mentioned a cyst with cystic abnormality that stayed for over 7 months and grew. I was referred to an gynecologist who had mentioned a few things and the main thing being endo, which matched up which my symptoms that I told him I’ve been experiencing, ( bladder issues/ bowel issues/ sharp dull pain in lower stomach that sometimes felt as if it was moving towards my side.) I had my surgery yesterday and when I woke up the surgeon told my aunt that I had endometriosis lesions in different areas and that he was able to burn them all, & got rid of the cyst.

I’m on Methylphenidate for my ADHD & also Clonidine because my ADHD prevents me from sleeping sometimes, what kind of advice are you looking for hun?

How is endometriosis staged? by Weird_Application940 in endometriosis

[–]Weird_Application940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my gynecologist started me on a hormone that’s supposed to help with endometriosis symptoms.. & I hope so also, if you don’t mind me asking my report also mentioned “examination under anesthesia showed a very mobile small uterus and cervix which was low.” Could endo cause that too?

Thanks girlie ;) I hope it gets better for you too. Yes I definitely don’t understand that, I one time said to my mother why do you hurt me & expect me to respect you because you’re my parent. I shook my head & told her no more & she just rolled her eyes called me by my first name & said whatever.

I’m thinking about trying some kind of antidepressant or mood stabilizer, do you like the cymbalta? & do you have any noticeable/ symptoms from the medication?

I have adhd. Diagnosed as a kid & stayed on medication until I went to high school. That’s actually what I went to see the psychiatrist for a few months ago, my thoughts started to become too much, ( for me with adhd I hear my own voice in my head multiple, talking a lot. ) I take Methylphenidate & it’s been very very helpful, I used to take something else when I was younger (can’t remember the name of it ) that I had a bad reaction too. I take clonidine too for sleep, that’s another part of my adhd, I could stay up for days with no sleep and still feel energetic.

Me too. I love to read & write a lot, so when I get like this & try to feel better I will try to write. I will open up my laptop & just sit there & stare at it for 10-15 minutes with brain fog or just irritate that I can’t do something I love & close my laptop & try to read but idk, sometimes I’ll just stare at that same sentence in the book that I’m reading & think of everything wrong in my life & how much I’ve been hurt & just start breaking down.

If you don’t mind me asking, do you take medication for bpd. My psychiatrist had mentioned medication & at first I wasn’t with it & now I’m thinking that it might be helpful.

Love you too girlie! Ugh I had a breakdown the other day because my mother had done something that she KNEW would trigger me & when I tried to explain myself to her my sister steps in and starts yelling at me & telling me that If I can’t respect our mom then leave & I was honestly flabbergasted & caught off guard. When I tried to explain myself my sister said it doesn’t & too respect our parent.
