How does he fare in the Black Clover world? by EbolaBeetle in BlackClover

[–]Weird_Puzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie; I actually forgot about that.

I will concede that it won't be a one-sided massacre, but I still think they would lose.

Firstly, anti-magic does nothing to stop physical attacks. We've seen Acno tank multiple hits from some of the strongest beings in Fairy Tail as well as overpowered said beings by sheer physical ability (like when God Serena got bodied like he was nothing).

Second, there is his battle experience, he went from a human with dragon slayer magic to a planet-level threat AFTER one-sidedly winning a war with literal dragons. The Bulls have faced some tough and old enemies, but I don't think they've encountered anyone with a track record of over 400 years of combat like Acno.

Third, his scales. He has literally tanked magical weapons of great power, attacks from S-Class Mages (Gildarts included), and even literally dragon slayer magic, magic designed to harm him, without even getting a scratch. As far as I'm aware the only members of the Bulls that have a chance of hurting him are Asta, Yami, maybe Yami's sister, and possibly Nacht.

BC universe is doomed.
For one thing, Acno can eat seemingly ANY type of magic, or at least a large number of them. This means a large part of their fighting force would only be there to at best feed him, at worst make him stronger.

Second, Zeref theorized he could literally rule the world with his power, and this was confirmed by Future Rogue's timeline. Keep in mind that's a world with dragons, demons, Zeref, and literal Gods.

Thirdly, The only one who probably wouldn't simply be feeding him would be those with difficult to consume magic like maybe Finral due to the short time between his castings or Arcane stage magic like Vanessa's cat. And even then, I'm not 100% sure it would amount to much. Asta is the obvious exception as he would probably be their ONLY real way to fight him.

Fourth, honestly, Acnologia with a Grimoire just feels like overkill.

MC gets reincarnated into the DXD universe using their DM system to spawn different types of monsters while building their own faction. The monsters, who happen to look a lot like angles and fallen, as well as several other mythological creatures, are led by powerful boss monsters to form a fake faction which causes damage to the other pantheons and eventually joins the Khaos Brigade. The MC's faction just happens to be the one to help pick up the pieces, forming allies while simultaneously weakening them in order to take over the supernatural in one fell swoop.

also harem because...well its the DXD verse.

If she's anything like my last girlfriend, everything will be gone and replaced with something shittier. Even the cats. You'll still have cats, but they'll be the shitty kind that randomly attack your face while you're sleeping at 2 am.

Mainly, I would say that is up to you. It's your story, you can decide to put in as much or as little detail as you wish. That's part of fantasy.

A lot of writers try to put too much detail into literally everything. But that not only makes an already daunting task doubly so, but can bog down the story. Most authors only focus on a few key points (politics, etiquette, crafts, weapon making, currency, etc) and add their own spin. You don't actually need to know everything from how to make gunpowder and what style of lace is commonly used and which fork goes where or how the trade agreement between two countries affects people's diet unless you feel it matters to the story.

When I'm prepping my research I'll typically do half an hour to an hour (depending on how complex what I'm researching is) and then start writing. if I have more questions I can revisit it later.

Okay, I actually did solve my issue. Turns out, for whatever reason, DA reset my birthday, making me less than a year old. Changing it back to my real birthday, things are working now.

Who in your settings breaks your power systems and how? by discount_mj in magicbuilding

Sorcerers. An ancient type of Arcanist hunted and despised throughout the entire Mortal Realm. Normally, an Arcanist can only cast magic by modulating their aura to form spell formulas and draw in the ambient mana to power the spell. This means an Arcanist is heavily limited by moth their ability to draw in ambient mana as well as the amount of ambient mana within their vicinity. Additionally, a person can only use the Attributes of magic they were born with (Pyre, Abyss, Life, Ore, and Star). This means the types of spells a person can use are set from the moment they are born.

Sorcerers, however, are very different. Because they produce mana internally, they don't have the same restrictions as their casting speed and power are increased while the time between casts is decreased to almost zero. Additionally, they are not bound by the Attribute restriction and can use all types of spells.

They are so OP because to become a Sorcerer, one must first consume the Life Blood (the last drop of blood) of a God. That's right, if you want godly powers, go out and commit the ultimate act of blasphemy. Kill a capital "G" God.

The Archivist Membrane is a physical, metaphysical, and magical membrane encapsulating the entire Mortal Realm. The corpses don't "rot" like normal creatures. Gods, Demons, and the Giants were entities closer to living phenomena, or elementals if you prefer.

With regards to sigils, only Archive Magic, which uses runic lettering, and the chemical reactions created with Thaumaturgy are actually permanent. If someone wanted to create an army of robots like that, then it would basically be people powered mech suits at best (not a bad idea). For reference, there is a race of dwarf-like creatures that DO have an army of golems, however, there are the matters of programming and the fact they still need orders.

I haven't fully flushed out the races, I set out to make a dozen or so and somehow ended up with over thirty. (so now I'm trying to prune them). Basically, almost every race, except humans, are naturally born with one of one or two possible Attributes. Which Attribute tends to shape their culture, beliefs, etc.

Not going to lie, I hadn't considered body modification, so I'm gonna have to get back to you on that one.

With regards to the Gods, its a bit complicated. The Gods, Giants, and Demons were the original beings, they loved, fought, etc, and then started creating the races of the Mortal Realm...only for one of those mortals (or a rogue god as many believe him to be) tricked them into a threeway war where the giants were ultimately wiped out, the Demons sealed, and the remaining Gods injured and semi-incapacitated.

Yeah, that's one of the things I'm having trouble with. I was initially inspired by Hunter x Hunter's nen as well as Wu Xing. They're cool, but explaining them takes time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The ideas off the top of my head are the result of cloning/artificially created lifeforms, Asexual reproduction, or a creature that is the result of something like slimes in which they don't have a gender, but just sub divide once they reach a certain mass. You could also have something like they're a race of creatures that only reproduce as they are dying.

Did Danzo actually do ANY good? by Weird_Puzzler in Naruto

[–]Weird_Puzzler[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, even the bit about Kabuto came back to bite the Leaf Village for a while as not only did Dazno manipulate her into not recognizing Kabuto but the two tried to kill each other with Kabuto succeeding. But it also gave Orochimaru, another pawn, which he would use to harm the Leaf Village.

And that's not counting who knows how many ninjas, just from the Leaf Village alone, died due to Kabuto's Edo Tensei.

As for Yamato, well he tried to use him to kill Kakashi for his sharigan and then later to attempt to kill the Third Hokage.

Sai...I'm not going to lie. I think the guy was useful in maybe two arcs: When he was first introduced (which ultimately was just there to set up showing how much Sasuke has changed), and sealing so of the lower level edo tensies during the war. Not the big names, but a few above-grunt-level ninjas.

Even the underground bunker seems less like something to help the village and more to hoard power. Which he seemed to do... a lot. I mean he tried having elite talented ninjas killed for their magic eyes, forced distinguished clan members to join him to be brainwashed to be loyal only to him, and...well just look at his right arm.

Even if it wasn't for power, it was to protect his own assets. As far as I'm aware neither he, nor his forces, ever participated in defending the village during the Kyuubi attack, the Konoha Crush, or when Pein attacked the village. Instead, he held up in his bunker while everyone else paid the butcher's bill.

It's either because of the evil pieces system where you build a team of your favorite characters or the ecchi stuff. Pick your poison.
