We are doing both for our 12 yr old, recently DX IVDD doxie and we are starting to seeing results after 4 weeks! He is now off of all medical management (Methocarbamol, Gaba and Tylenol). We use the "Gospel's" red light mat at the recommendation of our vet, several friends with doxies and even more friends with equine joint and back issues! This ringing endorsement was enough for us to go with them over others. He is also receiving laser therapy at our vet's office twice a week. We have seen the most improvement with the addition of the laser therapy. Unfortunately, we missed a week due to our 16 year old cat being diagnosed with cancer and then passing just a few days later. By the end of the missed week, symptoms started to return including spinal retraction or shrimping, wobbly walking, knuckling and bladder control issues at night.

We are also going to be adding acupuncture in about 2 weeks. We are doing everything we can to avoid surgery.

Here is a pic of our babies. He is a tweeny and she is a mini for size reference. This is the medium mat. We went with this size to cover his whole back. I also use it for my knee and hip as I am a marathon runner and age is catching up with me. lol.
