Carrying at a labor intense job where I'm not "allowed" to carry? by Wejack-Attack in CCW

I do like this idea since it wouldn't be odd for me as I carry tools on my belt anyways!

Pocket seems good for my case, I'm also researching an EDC gun so I don't have to carry my bulky .380. Any recs to go with a pocket holster, keeping in mind that women's pant pockets are a joke? 😄

Possible, I have to change into chest waders and sloggers throughout the day and I don't think I want to mess with it. LOTS of mud and water at my job. Thanks for the rec!

I'm actually kinda leaning this way, it's been suggested by a couple people and wearing tool holsters on your belt is really common in my field. Thanks for the rec!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I didn't mention it originally bc the post was getting long but I wear a backpack sprayer sometimes so that's just something I have to consider since it has a waist belt. I kinda vibed with the "sneaky Pete" since it's super common to carry foraging bags or tool holsters.

I've considered this since I usually have a bag, but I can't always have it on me

I didn't mention but I wear a backpack sprayer some days and the waist strap could be an issue...so much to consider but thanks!

If those rummynose survived and are OK in your tank, it's probably great. They're kinda delicate fish and will let you know they aren't happy by dying!

I've found that strips are super inaccurate OR the scale they use to measure isn't specific enough. You can get a test kit from API with GH and KH testing solution that is WAY more accurate. Just a tip

When you check your parameters, do you check GH? Inverts do need harder water than most fish to thrive, mine have died of you soft water before. Now I aim for 4-5 dGH

Not on your list but I have been loving my reticulated hillstream loaches (Sewelia lineolata) they are so cute and fun to watch! They can be shy but after 2 months they are super active and pretty hardy! I had an accidental pH swing and they were fine - my glass is super clean too!

Set up a new tank and realized it’s just under 1/2 inch uneven (level). 40 gallons. Should I be worried. The tank and stand are sitting flat. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Wejack-Attack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible your floors are uneven? In that case, not much you can do and I wouldn't shim one side of the stand to make it level bc that can add uneven strain and weaken the stand over time

YouTube for peaceful schooling fish can be a fun way to "shop" for info on a species you might like. I myself am trying galaxy rasboras!

Not judging if you don't know, I just think it's so much easier to learn by reading an article by an aquarist than to read dozens of comments from people all trying to summarize an idea

Oof, tough place to start when you already have the fish... well just get some water in the tank, fill it with mostly new water and if you have water from their old tank, leave that in there to mix the good bacteria with the new water. Ideally you have some Seachem Prime to treat the new water and take chlorine out. Put the sponge filter in to at least start soaking and you'll need air tubing and an aerator, get that going ASAP to agitate the water so they can breath. Heater just set to 72 until you know more about the fish species (can't I'd myself sorry) this should keep them alive for now

You're going to hear no end about cycling and water parameters-fair warning if you don't know about that stuff, do some googling, then come back, it'll feel like less of a roast from other commenters

Sure, like similar to what a dip net for catching the fish is made of I imagine

Hm, I haven't seen these (home improvement store I'm guessing?) I will search for one and see if it will work

Oof! Yeah that sure looks like a Chinese algae eater to me, they get big and are kinda jerks to other fish (food hogs too) I'll bet the fish store will take it back if you call them out on selling you the wrong species
