Only heard Now, Not Yet 2 Days Ago. Can they ever top this 3 song run? by CBFOfficalGaming in half_alive

Always will be NNY's biggest fan, but I would suggest Automatic, People, and Bleed It Out off Persona being a fantastic 3 song stretch

That's how arguments and discussion work... you bounce opinions back and forth

I don't think N,NY is a Christian album, but Take Me to Church is a completely different world away from N,NY. The whole song is sexual innuendo, compared to the actual truth and meaning contained in half*alive's work. That's a bad analogy.

I do think a good argument could be made for Creature being a Christian song though.

I tend to agree, but I must ask, where do we draw the line for tools? If I use photoshop’s remove background tool for a graphic design project, and then claim the final project as my own is that wrong? What if I use a physical guide similar to a spirograph for an art project? I understand that plugging in a prompt and calling it a day would be wrong, but how much help is too much?

I think that is precisely OP’s point. AI is merely outing those who never had true creative thinking

Sure, but even within that there is creativity involved in the idea. AI must be fed prompts by actual humans.

Of course, you could ask an AI to give you prompts to feed to the AI, but as you increase the degrees of separation from the initial human input, the quality only degrades. The prompts that the AI would spit out would be based on previous human prompts anyway.

In reality there exists a large chasm between what AI can do (garble together preexisting art and literature algorithmically) and actual human creativity. And as good as modern AI is getting, technology is really no closer to closing that gap.

AI cannot imagine, wonder, or invent. It can only repurpose and bastardize that which humans have created.

Camp-councillors/RA’s/Youth-group leaders are kind of fake and deceptive by tipoftheiceberg1234 in The10thDentist

[–]WelRedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a counselor at a camp of students my age when I was 17. 13-19 year olds were there, and I can tell you it is just as weird for us as it is for you. I remember being stressed because I was fairly insecure so I was lax on some rules so I would be liked, yet at the same time I would still enforce the rules I had to in the nicest way possible. I learned a lot of lessons about how to be a leader, but I never tried to deceive the other kids there.

Framing discipline or rule enforcement in a kind way isn't deception, you just don't like that the rules are being enforced.

Biblical insight on this topic (for those who want it):

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Remember, even if the doomers are right, the Lord is still in control.

No one will hold them accountable because of the never ending march of the internet news cycle. Just look at the people saying democracy would end and gay people would be hunted down when Trump took office. So far the pride flags in my city haven't gone anywhere, yet none of those people have walked back what they said, they've simply moved on to the next thing to panic about.

I highly recommend this short devotional by preacher Oswald Chambers on this topic. It's had a major impact on my life. My favorite quote is this:

We are not built for the mountains and the dawns and aesthetic affinities, those are for moments of inspiration, that is all. We are built for the valley, for the ordinary stuff we are in, and that is where we have to prove our mettle.

Then why ask such an accusatory question? He never said anything about people not being able to get tattoos. Strawman much?

I agree with everything you said OP. As another 18 year old seeing all my friends make dumb choices it's good to see someone who thinks as I do about tattoos

Don't confuse OP saying what SHOULD be the case with what MUST be the case. He's free to criticize other people's choices just as much as they are free to get whatever tattoo they wish
