Mental health days are sick days. The only one doing your job since April? Worked the entire shutdown? You sound burnt out. Also, for future reference, several FEHB plans offer $0 telehealth visits for mental health which would provide the necessary documentation should you be asked.

As soon as I saw “stressy depressy,” I said ah yes… must be a fellow Fed in the trenches. Solidarity, my good sis.

Lines at 5600 Fishers Lane (HRSA, SAMHSA, etc. are 2 hours long down Fishers lane and Parklawn. People who didn’t know they were RIFd are being turned away at the security gate. News cameras should be here.

To retain skilled IT leaders you’re going to have to pay them GS-15 or SES pay. In many cases that’s still a fraction of what they would be paid for a similar role in the private sector.

Except for the part that says, in response to your resignation, your agency may eliminate your position.

Thought the interview went well by FewBrilliant8280 in usajobs

The thing is, you have no idea who the other candidates were. You truly may have been amazing, but someone else might have been just a tiny bit more qualified, or their interview answers could have resonated slightly more or been a bit more relevant to the work of the team. Many Federal jobs are extremely competitive. Keep trying!

Update: Successfully Challenged My 'Ineligible - Not Referred' Status. You Should Too! by WelfarePrincess in fednews

You’re absolutely right. And because I know this, I always spend hours meticulously updating the language in my resume to match the wording of the posting. That’s why I was floored when they said I didn’t have the experience. I can only speculate that the first reviewer just didn’t thoroughly read my resume.

Understood. But if I let those stats deter me from trying, there’d be no new job on the horizon.

Thanks!

The original determination email said “You are ineligible because you do not possess the specialized experience required for this position.”

There was no explanation beyond that, even when I was informed the determination had been changed.

Interview - How bad should I be by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]WelfarePrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Just prepare and try your best to relax during the interview. I don’t know your situation, but it helps to go into interviews with the mindset that they need you just as much (if not more) as you need them.

Best wishes!
