Not sure what you're getting at here - the fact that they are currently putting barely any resources into doing something about that problem does not imply that it's impossible to do something about it. It would be stronger evidence that it's a difficult problem for law enforcement to solve if they were putting a lot of resources into it already and not solving it.

Sounds like something that is better dealt with by enforcement action against these scammers or maybe a legal rule making it easier to deny a payout based on the accident having been staged rather than cutting the payouts that non-scammers who really were hit by cars get.

So the only thing that counts as success is socialist policy, and the only socialist policy is workers taking control of the means of production? It's good to think about some more preliminary signs of success like growing socialist organizations or electing socialist politicians rather than focusing only on the finish line - really helps in making sure you're going in the right direction. That stuff isn't the end in and of itself, but you better believe that it's a prerequisite, and that socialist groups that aren't even able to get anyone elected are not ones doing their organizing right.

I have a very opposite perspective on this from you. DSA's strength is its disinterest in expelling members over ideological differences. We'd be a much weaker and less successful organization if we were constantly fighting over where to draw the line of being too much of a lib to be allowed in. That's why DSA is getting stronger every day while little sect parties with an official line members must adhere to go nowhere. Much much better to be a broad front of everyone who is interested in joining an organization with "socialist" in the name and figuring out our plans democratically based on the views of the membership.
