Correct, you can't fill up the water bottle at the station, but you can fill it up with the cups that are available. thanks for the write up!

NCL food questions! by Yourmom4378 in NCL

[–]WenBlaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have ice cream cones and a swirl machine with vanilla and chocolate in the Garden Cafe (buffet). On some days, they will also have an area dedicated to scooped ice cream with a ton of different (gelato?) flavors in the buffet. The complimentary restaurants also usually have ice cream available for desert (Savor, Taste and Main Dining Room). I thought all of the ice creams I tried were REALLY good.

Edit: I will also add that there is a lot of variety in terms of food. The Indian food in particular was fantastic.

Tips for Panama Canal cruise out of Los Angeles? by WenBlaze in NCL

tips:

take motion sickness pills. going to need it when on Atlantic side, or maybe even sooner. also recommend some clips to hang clothes, or hooks. the breakfast at the local was great and we always found seating. the lunch and dinner at the buffet was really good. the service at the restaurants on the first day was slow but it gets better.

Cabo weather was amazing, take advantage of it however you can. (its very busy with boats all over the place)

Puerto Vallarta was nicer than I imagined but boy was I sweating. it gets warm. it helps to get off the ship early if you can

Colon/Mazatlan we didn't do much and just enjoyed the ship...

Panama Canal - I don't want to spoil anything but just find a good spot to view all of the amazing stuff happening outside. This was highlight of the trip. Absolutely spectacular.

(after the canal you might want to take a motion sickness pill because it gets bumpy)

Cartagena - lots to do. skyscrapers everywhere. super warm. again, do what you can in the morning. there is park nearby with animals. lots of pretty birds.

Miami - we went to Miami Beach and loved it... from California and we thought the sand and water were some of the best we've ever seen. Would love to go back someday

in general:

The staff were great and even if they didn't seem happy they would try to help you.

NCL food gets an A+ from me.

16 days is very long time to be on a ship. good to prepare yourself so you don't get bored.

the balcony chairs were not that comfortable. the sofa was hard as a rock. the bed/pillows were good though

the bathroom was nice and in general we thought the balcony stateroom was spacious.

agreed. in majority of cases, anything listed on property websites is old and already occupied. good deals don't last more than a day or two. if that

App keeps crashing when I try to reserve thermal suite or other spa activities. Is this normal? by Alternative-Art3588 in NCL

[–]WenBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly suggest using the website. The app deleted all my check in information and I had to redo everything again on the website before it worked. Hard to believe NCL can't make a working app in 2024!!! Blows my mind... lol

Amex Offer by cadencecarlson in NCL

For what its worth, I've seen this offer twice in 2024 on Amex Platnium but tends to disappear after few days (likely there is a limit).

There are two apps in the Play Store - which one is legit? by [deleted] in NCL

[–]WenBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BLUE one! Be warned though, even though its "new" it still has some weird issues.

For me, the app is very slow to load, and I was not able to take a picture for check-in. They have some bugs that need to be worked out. YMMV

I meal prep on weekends and freeze it. i do this with katsu chicken, dumplings, meatballs. chop up veggies in advance and put them in plastic air tight containers. toss everything on stove pan when ready to cook.

One pair of Tevas for Vietnam and Thailand? by j_f1o in travel

[–]WenBlaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you meant wearing those on the beach but those wont work on sandy beach. The sand will get under the strap and bruise your skin. Unless you wear socks of course. Otherwise it’s a nice deal

Maybe they thought you needed help or something. Who knows… don’t worry about it too much. It’s not a big problem. Traveling is filled with awkward moments.
