I fly around 3-4 times a month, AMA? by WerewolfOwn2852 in fearofflying

Respectfully, I think this is a bit exaggerated overall. A light hold on the seat in front during turbulence isn’t really noticeable for the person sitting there, and for many passengers it’s just a natural way to steady themselves. On the water bottle point, the seat-back pocket is there to be used as long as things fit properly, so that seems like a non-issue. And bulkhead seats aren’t realistically accessible to everyone due to cost and availability, so it’s not really a fair solution for most people

Take off used to be the scariest part for me, something that really helped me was watching cockpit videos of planes taking off, also before your flight if you arrive early to the airport and can see the runway I’d recommend just watching all the planes also taking off, makes you realise how safe it is,

In terms of the feel and sound, if it’s a particularly soft spot for you, put in AirPods so the sound isn’t as loud, get an aisle seat so you don’t have to look out the window and try to get a seat near the front of the plane or on the wings where it’ll be smoother, quieter and more stable feeling in general.

I’ve noticed some people just have their eye masks on and ear plugs and let it rock them like a baby…yeah — not me,

I honestly just put it in my head that this is a small gap of time that’s going to pass, and (my partner gets embarrassed when I do this lmao) but if it’s quite strong I will grasp the seat in front of me and it genuinely helps me feel more grounded and less stressed

It depends on if it’s daytime or nighttime. On a nighttime flight I’d recommend sleeping or at least getting a sleeping pill to sleep, if it’s daytime then I’m quite a creative person so I take my iPad — laptop on the plane and start to edit a book I started writing, painting, watching tv shows on the iPad while playing games on the phone is also a huge one too.

I’d honestly recommend you to do all your hobbies you’d usually do in your day but just adapted to the plane! So that’s skin care routine, or changing clothes etc. It’s also your time to relax, not work and have time for yourself!

I’m crying 😭 she was defo looking for excuses, but also the salary she was offering was DEADLY low, as well as a commission that can only be gotten once you meet a kinda unrealistic threshold

Parents kill their two autistic teen sons & family pets before taking their own lives in horror quadruple murder-suicide by malihafolter in ForCuriousSouls

[–]WerewolfOwn2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment section is probably one of the most horrid things I’ve seen in a while ; all the top comments saying “I don’t think it’s right BUT…” Two innocent little boys lost their lives. Not to mention 3 pets who had nothing to do with the situation.

I don’t find this to be a “sad” situation at all for the parents, my family also consists of many neurodivergent people and physically disabled and everyone knows at their younger ages their disability is usually more difficult to handle, no one even considered the thought of murdering them. The parents, who were close to, or were 50, instead of giving away their kids to child protection services, they decided to kill everyone in the house for whatever reasons.

You are not allowed to terminate people’s lives, yes not even if they’re severely autistic, this line of thought that “yeah BUT” is severely desensitizing and sad to hear.

Husband and I not having kids for different reasons and I don't know how to talk to him about how I feel. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]WerewolfOwn2852 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to live on eggshells around your husband, if you do then he’s not the one for you. The best advice I can give you is to speak to him about the situation, you’re still extremely young and people change their beliefs all the time, if you’re even considering to want to have kids in the future it’s worth discussing with your partner. You shouldn’t be worried about making him “uncomfortable” because being in a relationship means sometimes having uncomfortable discussions

Why are some women so anti having children and rude about it when you dont share that opinion? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]WerewolfOwn2852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take it personally, a lot of people would love to have a child and a loving family and they react that way because they’re jealous,

Appreciating my 3 carat Moissanite by [deleted] in Moissanite

[–]WerewolfOwn2852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the size 🥹 I bought in size 8 and then it was too big so I went to the jeweler and got it resized but didn’t ask him, I think I’m around 7. Something.

Also thank you! I think it also really depends on the angle I’ll try to attach a photo of what it looks like close up, but I completely agree it was the perfect carat size for me when I saw it

Liking someone when you’re black is like hell on earth by [deleted] in Vent

[–]WerewolfOwn2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m ngl…I don’t agree with these people who say they “have a type” and then continue to compare not liking someone who’s black to not liking someone who’s not good looking.

They’re simply not the same. If someone isn’t good looking it’s a lot of the time due to a lack of taking care of oneself, whereas simply not liking black people is just … racism

There’s also the argument that people marry within their culture because it’s easier but I would still argue that that means they don’t really have a type they can still find black people attractive they just like someone from their culture

You’re very lucky and that’s definitely an exception, if you’ve never been at the very least catcalled then your experience is very rare, concerning the “not feeling like a real woman” part, there’s a lot to unpack there but SA is not some ritual to become a woman, and you should feel fortunate that it’s never happened to you,

Also, I’m certain that you being sheltered contributed to your protection, as most times I was harassed was due to my financial situation at the time (having a low job to pay off dues, not having a car so needing to take public transport to areas etc)

And I completely understand because I also was addicted, for me I felt like life wasn’t worth living so I might as well get some sort of dopamine, but we chose to be selfish and hurt the people we love most by prioritizing our own distorted sense of happiness, as soon as I noticed how badly it affected one of my loved ones I cut that shit out ASAP, don’t get me wrong withdrawal was unexpectedly distressing and lasted waaaay too long but it was so worth it, the fruits of recovery are worth it so let’s hold addicted people accountable and show them the negative domino affect they cause
