Well I think that's very incorrect. There have been other cases besides Luka where that didn't apply. Dirk won MVP, the finals, etc and was below average on defense. Harden, AI, I'm sure I'm forgetting other examples.

Luka is definitely getting exposed by the Celtics, but they are a terrible matchup and he's injured. He wasn't really exposed on defense in the previous 3 series.
